elling the story of Blanc Mariclò means going through the memories of our family, retracing a tale that spans almost 100 years.

In 1926 Albert Federighi started his business by trading fabrics, in particular pieces of oilcloth, a business that was then continued by our grandfather Enrico. A tall, handsome, righteous soul, definitely what we would call a traditionalist, but with great bursts of modernity acquired during his long trips to the United States. When Enrico’s sons joined the company it was already selling finished and packaged textiles as well as the traditional pieces of fabric. Each one, with their individual talents and personalities, brought a bit of themselves to the company, transforming it and making it a little more like themselves. Roby, our father, has a natural flair for sales, one of those men who enjoy themselves and have fun during negotiations with clients and suppliers. With him Federighi managed to broaden its commercial horizons to large groups, becoming suppliers to retailers at national and European level. D I S C O V E R

Family! In a family business every new generation that joins the company brings a bit of themselves creating new directions. ur entrance into the company was destined to bring dramatic changes. Our personal nature and our talents lead us to create Blanc MariClò and in 2000 we open the first store in Florence. It completely changed the style of our product and the end client.

The linen production became more exclusive and sophisticated, and stylists and designers joined the company. For the first time furniture and accessories became part of the collections. The creative style is predominant and defines a new brand identity linked to the love for the home and to a real lifestyle.

habby chic means rough around the edges but classy, it is the style that we inspire to. After a life spent in the Tuscan countryside and the markets of Provence it was

only natural for us to bring this style to the family business. To begin with we took over an outbuilding of our parents’ house to create a veritable laboratory where we could adapt and restore furniture. The business has, however, grown exponentially and quickly and has forced us to move to a more functional space and use more efficient production methods.

oday Blanc MariClò exports and distributes its products throughout Europe, Russia, Japan, Korea, the United Arab Emirates and many other countries around the world.

This great expansion has changed the production processes that have had to adapt to ever stricter quality standards and logistics and distribution systems that have become more efficient. The expansion and modernization have never diverted from the true spirit of Blanc MariClò: the poetry of everyday life, creating collections inspired by a cosy and warm home, full of love.

With us the company has had to deal with a higher number of women at managerial level than ever before. Our talents are not those of our father to dominate and master commercial negotiations with a big buyer. We decided to bring creativity and poetry to our management, causing a major change in direction.

Our parents’ house, our childhood home, a Tuscan farmhouse where Blanc MariClò was born and developed. The exponential expansion of our company caused us to move our headquarters to more efficient spaces. What's our dream? To bring the whole company here, where it was born! S H A B B Y

An old outbuilding: this is where we had the laboratory where we restored adapted shabby chic furniture. Over the years it has hosted dinners and parties for clients. It is currently the location of our exciting photo shoots. What's our dream? To make it into a place for weddings, workshops and events T H E

G A R D E N

Gardening is our father’s passion, particularly his collection of ancient roses. In spring there are thousands of buds and flowers of every colour that wrap around gazebos and pergolas or colour the bushes. What's our dream? To open the rose garden for visits when they are in flower. S H O W R O O M Our showroom is where we exhibit our collections every six months by expressing all our creativity, our intimate and personal vision of the home as we would like it to be. What's our dream? To bring it back to the fields and rose gardens, in close contact with nature and the true soul of Blanc MariClò

G R O W S

With family businesses, there boundary between personal life and work is blurred. The two spheres, personal and professional, intertwine and influence each other. The children grow up in the company, where they grow for nine months in the tummy of the mum as there is no maternity leave, where they are breastfed, where they grow up playing at tidying away the fabric, where they learn to use the sewing machine and, above all, where they go to visit granddad in his office. A company is modelled in the image and likeness of those who lead it. The consequences are varied and influence various aspects. Our joining the company and the type of work that is done now have led to most of the employees being women. At the product level the Blanc Mini collection for kids has been created. The company also supports the Tommasino Bacciotti Foundation providing houses to the families of children in long-term oncological care. All this is certainly linked to a company that is owned by people who are not only women but also mothers. W H A T

T O

E X P E C T

There are always many projects going on and the difficulties in completing them seem endless. As we have already mentioned, together we are stronger and we are ready to take on lots of new challenges. We want Blanc MariClò to be more social and more efficient in its use of new technology and the web. We would like to arrange events, sales campaigns and workshops at the Blanc Farm, going back to our origins, because it is in the places that we love that we can best express the essence of our products that contain within them a dream.
