Igmar De Vos
On behalf of the Equestre Internationale, I am thrilled to wel come you to Las Vegas for another exciting qualifier of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League 2022/2023. As this new season unfolds, we will have some of the world’s finest sport horses and athletes showcase their talent as they chase precious FEI World Cup™ points, aiming for the Final in Omaha (USA), 4-8 April 2023.
Twelve leagues, including the North American League, make up the highly successful and global FEI World Cup™ Jumping series which has been in existence since 1978. The format of the FEI World Cup™ series guarantees edge of your seat competitions while displaying the fantastic bond between horses and people; the trust, the communication, the hard work and the patience required. It is this bond which enables impressive feats of athleticism to be achieved and the core around which the whole FEI community revolves.
The USA, Canada and Mexico will once again be setting the scene of the North American League with currently eight suspense-filled qualifiers of which four count towards the overall standings. Our North American journey began in Sacramento (USA), and soon we will be heading out to Fort Worth, TX (USA), Puebla (MEX) and Ocala, FL (USA), only to name a few; at each leg, we are guaranteed to experience top-level sport, as athletes and horses brave courses of the highest standards, set up by some of the best course designers in the world.
This new season will once again be filled with fantastic sports mo ments, and I would like to thank Longines most sincerely for their vital contribution, which ensures quality competition and manage ment throughout the series. Together, we are advancing the legacy of this tremendous series whose appeal continues to grow and stretch into new territories attracting many new fans along the way.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Blenheim EquiSports and their partners for their vision and efforts at enabling this event and acting as a motor for international equestrian sport in the region. To the volunteer body and sponsors, as well as the athletes, the enthusiastic public and the media representatives, thank you for your dedication and loyalty; this would not be possible without you! In whatever capacity you have come here today, I wish you an enjoyable event, conducted in the best spirit of great horsemanship.

Dear horse show enthusiasts!
Welcome to the 2022 Las Vegas National CSI4*-W Horse Show, proudly hosted by Blenheim EquiSports. With the longstanding support of Paula and Michael Gaughan, what was once a small, one-ring horse show on the outskirts of town, has transformed itself into one of the most significant indoor hunter/jumper events in the country. Most notably, we are honored to be part of the evolution of the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, and the adjoining Arena & Equestrian Center.
Once again, it is exciting to host the annual Marshall & Sterling Insurance/USHJA National Championships which continue to grow in popularity with an expansive schedule of championship opportunities. We are also honored to have the distinction of holding one of only two FEI CSI4*-W events on the West Coast which are qualifiers for the Longines World Cup Final, to be held April 4-8, 2023 in Omaha, Nebraska. Scheduled on the heels of the USEF Premier-rated hunter, and 6*-rated jumper events at the Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, we are proud that the Las Vegas National is the cornerstone of what has evolved the West Coast into the premier year-end jumping circuit in North America.
Finally, it is with sincerest gratitude that I thank our sponsors, partners, and staff whose commitment and tireless work are reflected in bringing you this spectacular annual event.
Good luck, and enjoy your week in Vegas!

LONGINES DOLCEVITA X YVY
THE OFFICIAL WATCH OF THE LONGINES FEI JUMPING WORLD CUPTM OF LAS VEGAS
uring the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM in Las Vegas, Longines is proud to introduce the new Longines DolceVita X YVY line. Swiss designer Yvonne Reichmuth has given the famously rectangular timepieces a new identity, with sophisticated leather straps. Referencing the equestrian world so dear to Longines, their design is evocative to bridles and harness.
As the summer invites watch-wearers to bare their forearms and reveal the timepieces adorning them, the winged hourglass brand is unveiling its new line of Longines DolceVita X YVY models. The Swiss watch brand has matched its watches here with subtle double straps in leather, in three shades: double beige
leather, brown and with black with rivets. The design of these models was entrusted to the Zurich-based company YVY, creators of sophisticated glam-rock accessories popular with international stars and a clientele looking for exclusivity.
The complementary worlds of Longines and YVY have come together in an almost instinctive collaboration. The straps of these Longines DolceVita X YVY models are made of Italian or Swiss leather. They are produced according to a traditional manufacturing method. Adorned and reinforced with metal details, their finishes are impeccable and feature striking references to the equestrian world beloved of the winged hourglass brand.

HOW IT WORKS
The WCE Medal Final is open to junior and amateur riders that have qualified by earning points in WCE Medal Junior/Amateur classes throughout the show season.
At the Las Vegas National Horse Show, all qualified riders will contest two rounds of competition, with the top 10 riders after round two advancing to a third round before one winner is named.

Recognizing Professional Grooms
The Grooms Award, Ltd. is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization that recognizes and rewards professional grooms. The Grooms Award is participating at nine major horse shows this year.
Created to recognize the workers “behind the scenes,” the Grooms Award was established in honor of Moira Caffarey (who unexpectedly passed away in 1997) and later George Hennessy (transporter for the USET). Friends of Moira donated a trophy for the first-ever grooms’ award at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg where individuals and companies donated prizes to be given to the winning groom.
As donations increased each year, more shows were added, and it was decided that each of the grand prix grooms deserved a “thank you” for their efforts and professionalism. A tote bag was awarded to each grand prix groom, filled with goodies and gift cards from generous sponsors. That program has now been expanded to include select classes in addition to grand prix with added prizes for the grooms of winning horses in designated classes.
“It’s an honor for us to recognize and reward the professional grooms at top horse shows,” said Andrea Mewhinney, Director of The Grooms Award, Ltd. “Being a groom is a really tough job. Grooms work very hard behind the scenes to keep the equine athletes in their care at the top of their game. The horses and their riders really depend on the grooms, and they deserve to be recognized.”
Each show has different prizes, but generally as a “thank you” for their efforts and professionalism, grooms of all horses entered in the grand prix receive an embroidered tote bag from SmartPak that includes snacks, drinks, an EquiFit facemask, a Haygain monogrammed towel and entry into a drawing for an HG One Hay Steamer from Haygain valued at $999, a Busy Buddy, insoles and $25 gift card from ThinLine, Tate’s cookies, Himalayan Salt block from VT Salt and an assortment of Grooms Award items including a lanyard, pen and decal!
In addition to the above, the groom of the winning horse also receives a $50 gift certificate from EquiFit, a tack room pillow from Haygain, a custom belt from Boy-O-Boy Bridleworks, a yoga mat and $25 gift card from ThinLine and a cash prize courtesy of The Grooms Award Ltd.
The Grooms Award Ltd. thanks all of its sponsors and supporters including Boy-O-Boy Bridleworks, EquiFit, Friends of Moira and George, GC Ponies and Robin Greenwood, Haygain, Morrissey Management Group (MMG), ThinLine, West Palms Event Management, SmartPak, VT Salt & Stone and all other supporters of The Grooms Award!
