WELCOME Welcome to the Blenheim EquiSports 2018 show season! As we strive to do each year, we have expanded our existing programs and added some new ones with the goal of providing top quality competition in a world-class setting. And as always, our sincere thanks go out to the competitors, owners, trainers, parents, grooms, spectators, and sponsors for their endless support. We could not produce these events in three locations without you. In order to provide a platform to set and achieve the highest standard of competition goals, and offer an opportunity for loyal patrons to participate, Blenheim EquiSports created the Founders Club. We are honored to welcome a group of passionate equestrians who want to raise the level of sport on the West Coast. We, along with the 2018 Blenheim EquiSports Founders Club Members, look forward to growing the sport through this effort. From world champion hunters and pony riders to World Cup™ jumpers and equitation riders, Blenheim offers competitive options for every horse and rider. We are pleased to present several new programs this year, including the new USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Southwest Regional Championships at the International Jumping Festival and the inaugural Aon/USHJA National Championships at The 2018 Las Vegas National. We also support current USHJA programs including the World Champion Hunter Rider Series; USHJA International, National, and Pony Hunter Derbies; the USHJA/WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular and the third inaugural USHJA Hunterdon Cup Equitation Classic – West. A part of our hunter tradition, the USEF Junior Hunter National Championship – West will be a part of our summer in Del Mar once again this year. And in the equitation discipline we are happy to see the return of theAmerican Tradition of Excellence Equitation Challenge, presented by Whitethorne, early this summer as well as a list of regional medal finals for ASPCA and CPHA during our fall season. We celebrate our young horses and riders - the future of our sport - with the Young Jumper and Young Hunter programs. Offering free entries and discounted stalls, these programs are generously sponsored by Fairbanks Valley Farm and Brookway Stables. The Fall season offers a plethora of championships from the Young Jumper Championships Western League Final to the Interactive Mortgage Horses 10 & Under Futurity Final. MARKEL INSURANCE 1.45M AMERICAN STANDARD GRAND PRIX SERIES FINAL Prize Money: $30,000+ Added Money | Fence Height: 1.45m The Las Vegas National Horse Show, November 13 – 18, 2018 The top 25 riders from the 2018 Markel Insurance Series Grand Prix Qualifiers will be eligible for the Final. Riders will receive qualifying points per class based on their top placing horse only. Points in the qualifiers will be awarded based on the number of entries in each qualifier. First place will be awarded one more point than the number of entries in the class, second place will be awarded one less point than the number of entries in the class, third place one less than second place, fourth place one less than third, etc. Horses in the Final must have competed in a minimum of one Markel Qualifier from the 2018 Qualifying season. 2018 YOUNG HUNTER CLASSIC FINAL Prize Money: $10,000 | Blenheim Fall Tournament, September 12 – 16, 2018 Riders are not required to have participated in the Blenheim Young Hunter Series to compete in the Final; Riders may compete more than one horse. All Horses must have competed in ONE (1) Blenheim Young Hunter Classic within the stated qualifying period OR pay the $250 Pay to Compete Fee plus the additional Finals entry fee. Six entries are required to be entered and have competed for the Final to count toward USEF HOTY points. AON/USHJA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) recently announced the inaugural 2018 Aon/USHJA National Championships, which will be held from Nov. 13-18, 2018, at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W in Las Vegas, Nevada. “We are thrilled to bring our members a top-notch, end-of-year national championship event that celebrates everything they’ve worked for all year,” said Mary Babick, president of the USHJA. “We envision the Aon/USHJA National Championships will move venues throughout the country over the years providing access to members nationwide. Las Vegas is an incredible first stop, and Blenheim EquiSports is a fantastic host for the inaugural event.”
“Our history of working with the South Point spans more than a decade and each year we find ways to add compelling reasons for competitors to come experience this unique venue and facility. We look forward to welcoming all the invited horses and riders, as well as their trainers, owners and families to The 2018 Las Vegas National.” The Championships will also include free USHJA VIP access for all competitors and their families, fun activities throughout the week, and an experience to remember. The Aon/USHJA National Championships will feature National Hunter Championships for Amateur Owner Hunters, Junior Hunters, Pony Hunters, Green Hunters, Adult Amateur Hunters and Children’s Hunters. They will also include the USEF/USHJA National Jumper Championships with eight sections of Jumper competition from 1.10m to 1.40m for Junior, Amateur and Open Jumper competitors. The Championships will feature the first of its kind USHJA Affiliate Championships at fence heights of 2’ and 2’6”, and the Championships will offer the USHJA National Equitation Championships for riders 14 and under and those 15-17. Riders will compete for national titles and have an opportunity to earn Horse of the Year points in their sections. The Championships will take place during The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, which is held at the South Point Hotel, Casino, & Spa’s unique Arena & Equestrian Center. Blenheim’s Chip in for Charity program gives back to four charitable organizations each year, donating money from competitors’ wins. Each time a rider earns a blue ribbon, he/she is given a chip and a choice. Riders can either redeem prizes in exchange for chips, or drop them in boxes representing the charity of their choice. At the end of each show, the accumulated chips in each organization’s box are turned into a monetary donation from Blenheim. This year, The Wasserman Foundation will match each donation. The lucky recipient organizations in 2018 will be Thrive Animal Rescue, San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition, Red Bucket Equine Rescue, Park Place Foundation, and the USET Foundation.

PONY RIDERS, EARN MONEY WITH YOUR HORSEMANSHIP SKILLS! THE EMERSON BURR HORSEMANSHIP GRANT The Emerson Burr Horsemanship Grant will be awarded to the highest scoring participant of each of these four age groups: 8 and under; 9-11; 12-14; and 15-17. Each winner at the zone level receives a $100 grant to use towards educational related expenses. Riders competing in ba`k U^SeeWe are eligible to participate in this program. Each participant will take a short, multiple choice test on horsemanship, which contains no more than 20 questions and respond to a short essay question. A winner will be selected from each age group based on the results. Grant information forms received by winners must be returned to USEF by November 15, 201*. The Emerson Burr Grant will also be offered on a National Level during the 201* US78 Pony Finals presented by Collecting Gaits Farm. So start sharpening your horse-manship knowledge!
