Hitched In A Hurry—Book Review

We met through work in a “meant to be way. He left the company that we both worked for, and as a result, I was able to transfer to California, from Ohio to take over his vacant Sales Territory. Then we became competitors and first met through a customer .

The Proposal He proposed over Christmas 2013. We had looked at rings and I fell in love with one that was a bit out of our budget. We continued to look at rings for a month or two even though all along he was working on getting the ring I wanted, custom made for me. So I was completely blown away Christmas because we were

still looking! He gave me diamond earrings as my Christmas gift as a way to distract me and as I was “ooohhing” and “Awwing” with my family, I turned around and he was on his knee.

“I will never forget it. It was an amazing moment.”

When two families become one ...

Urban/Industrial Meets Wine Country

The first time I stepped foot into Twenty Rows Winery in Napa, California, I knew that this venue was the place that I wanted to plan my very first inspiration style shoot in the Napa Valley. Napa Valley is known for its world class wineries and couples from around the world travel to the valley for their wedding celebrations. The Twenty Rows Winery is a diamond in the rough and one of the valley’s best kept secrets. A balance is created by its urban location; tucked away in midtown Napa near the Napa Valley Wine Train and the Oxbow Market; perfect for an intimate wedding celebration or any other private event. The rustic brick store front has a table and chairs to sit at where you can sip a glass of vino or two. When you walk into the lobby area, you feel like you are walking into another world away from the quintessential urbanism of the outside world. There is a kings table in the tasting room where guests can mix and mingle for an intimate rehearsal dinner or private wine tasting event. The main room of the winery showcases industrial beams, brick walls, local art, Giants fan memorabilia and wine barrels galore. You often hear music like Pink Floyd’s “Off the Wall” boldly playing in the background.

I wanted to capture the true essence and eclectic feel of the venue. This hip and unique winery will be the place to get married or have your wedding celebration. Twenty Rows Winery is the type of venue that will draw the edgy, offbeat and eclectic bride. It offers a blank canvas to leave your mark and it is a guarantee that any event you hold there will be one in which your guests will walk away knowing that Twenty Rows is not your average winery or event venue. Once I decided on the venue, I knew that I wanted to work with Brian MacStay at Brian MacStay Photography because he is the type of photographer that could capture the true essence and eclectic feel of the venue.

I set out to create a tablescape that reflected the uniqueness of the winery. My inspiration came from the brick walls of the winery and there were incredible industrial type beams, which made for a great backdrop. I also wanted everything to feel warm, intimate, understated, urban and sensual. So instead of going with a typical winery theme, I went with a warm, inviting palate of burgundy, greens and peaches.

Once I determined the color palate in mind, I then focused on the details of the shoot. My inspiration was drawn from a trough table at Wine Country Party Rentals. I wanted something to represent the sleek, smooth, and urban paired with a more natural, earthy element, like the brick walls and industrial/urban backdrop of Twenty Rows Winery.

I also drew inspiration from the funky and offbeat textures and tones of the winery. I’m sure you’ll see, all of the details down to the industrial cage lights streaming along down the aisle of the ceremony area to the stationary (designed by Creative Designs by Mimi) named after the various wines bottled at Twenty Rows Winery. They all are tied together to create a casual/urban yet sensual feel. I got a trough table from Wine Country Party Rentals and filled it with ice for a built in beverage bar to showcase the Twenty Rows Winery wines. The tablescape was finished off with glassware, silverware, china and linens reflecting the burgundy, greens and peaches color theme. A Loves in Bloom were contacted to design the bouquet, boutonnière and floral accents. There was no need for centerpieces but the orchids that were placed on the china offered a balance to the industrial and edgy background..

“There is something very sexy and stylish about a retro car” Since Twenty Rows Winery is an edgy and unique venue, I thought about using a very unusual and very California car… a 1966 Volkswagen Micro Bus to incorporate into the background of the winery. There is something very sexy and stylish about a retro car and what better way to be tied into the venue by using such a fun retro car as a photo prop? I contacted Tim Nuss with Twenty Rows Winery and he referred me to Joel Horne at Low Speed Resto in the Napa Valley. Joel specializes in the restoration of Volkswagen buses. The Volkswagen Micro Bus added a retro element to the shoot. Cuvee Napa Catering created unique and sophisticated desserts that added to the overall vision. and then last but certainly not least; Brian and I pulled in the help of our beautiful “bride” and “groom” Rachel and Jeremy. Rachel and Jeremy are such a beautiful couple not only because they photograph well but because their chemistry, sensuality and charm radiates everywhere because they are married!

Attending a wedding ? What to Wear By: Olivia Irene

So your getting ready to attend the first wedding of the many you will attend through out the year . You open your closet and ask your self the all important question of “What am I going to wear ?. The What To Wear Struggle is real ladies , but have no fear we have the fabulous Olivia Irene, owner of the blog Rio The dreamcatcher where she shows us her fab fashion and how to style it , to show us the fashion way. Olivia Irene : The struggle of finding what to wear and what is appropriate (no black or white ladies) prolonged my discovery of finding the perfect dress. I was aiming for something super girly and was inspired by coral, roses, golds and over the top clutches. You would think I was the bride hunting for the perfect dress, but no, I was just a guest trying to figure out what the hell to wear to my first wedding of 2014. When one is clueless on what to wear, one must go to the drawing board, and by that, I mean the mood board that I create ! I created my mood board with the intent of being extra girly with soft colors, pearls and sparkle avoiding black and white at all cost. My tip to ladies who can't figure out what color of dress to wear, gem tones for the cooler seasons and pastels for spring and summer.

rancisco bay "the one that this time with sides of the me it was best.

So I planned a weekend getaway in the city. I wanted to make it feel like we were somewhere we had never been. I got a room at the beautiful Marriott. I told him we were going to be tourists for the weekend. An that's just what we did. We had the most amazing time. On our last night there I took him down to the pier where we caught a boat out to the beautiful Forbes Island for dinner, where I was going to pop the question. We had drinks and dinner. By dessert my heart was racing and I was so scared. What if he said no? When dessert came out, I got up an knelt down on one knee on the side of the table reached in my pocket and pulled out the ring. "Babe will you marry me"?

Smiling from ear to ear he said "YES"!!! Omg that was the happiest moment in my life so far, that is until the day we are able to say I do.

We have waited mar Now I smile and cal
