TEENS’ FALL FUN!

Welcome back to the new school year! Schools are opening up to full capacity, and so are the Fort Bliss Youth Centers. Milam Youth Center (MYC) and Replica Youth Center (RYC) serve registered Child & Youth Services (CYS) students in grades 6 to 12.

Both youth centers are open every day after school from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays. Remember, MYC is open on even Saturdays and RYC is open on odd Saturdays. Every afternoon each center has different clubs every afternoon in the “Youth Service Area.”

Youth Services offers programs such as; Sports, Fitness & Heatlh options, Life Skills, Citizenship & Leadership Opportunities, Arts, Recreation and Leisure, Academic Support, Mentoring, and Intervention Services. One or more of these service areas will be offered daily for the youth’s interest.

Here are some of the events the youth center’s will be hosting this fall.

Haunted House: MYC’s annual haunted house, created by their very own youth. Youth have full creative control on the themes of a five room haunted house. The opportunity for youth to be involved with the haunted house committee is offered during our biweekly youth council.

Fear Games: A week of facing your fears. Bring your iron stomach and nerves of steel as you and your team compete to make it out on top. Teams of four each have to compete in one individual challenge as your teammates cheer you on, and a variety of team challenges.

Hodge Podge: A week of a fun-filled activities including Hunger games, Giant Game Day, and Escape Room to name a few.

Wonderland Dance: MYC’s annual youth formal. This year MYC’s gym will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Formal attire is required for all youth.

Saturday, Oct. 30: Halloween Bingo with Costume Contest! Saturday, Nov. 20: Thanksgiving Bingo with Turkey Basket Drawing! Wednesday, Dec. 29: New Year’s Bingo with Extra Cash Prizes!

Doors open at 4:30 pm, early bird games start at 5:30pm, main game at 6pm. Prices vary. Please call for more information.
