Month of the Military Child is observed each April to honor and celebrate military children and youth for their service, commitment, and sacrifice in support of the Army's mission. The observance reiterates the Army’s commitment to provide quality care and positive youth development for a bright future. The theme for this year’s MOMC is “Honoring the Past,

Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future.” According to Department of Defense, “there are more than 1.6 million military children who face many challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parents’ service.” That is a lot of little kids moving, changing schools, making new friends, while leaving treasured friends behind. That’s why this month is packed full of fun, family events and programs.

Check out the month-long MOMC bowling specials at Desert Strike Lanes, register your youthage kids for the Operation Megaphone Lock-in, enjoy the beautiful outdoors at the MCCASA Walk and take the whole family to Purple Up at Replica Youth Center. Join MWR and celebrate military kids!

April is an exciting time of year as MWR enters the large, outdoor special events season. There is barely a day that goes by in April without some kind of event so make sure to follow on Facebook and Instagram and at bliss.armymwr.com.
