How To Keep Office Restrooms Germ Free

It is a well-known fact that Office restrooms are a breeding ground for germs due to the vast amount of people that use them, which makes them one of the dirtiest places within the working environment. Along with this they have the highest potential for office workers to catch harmful bacteria and viruses. This can result in illness which leads to workers off sick and therefore the office becomes less productive. Office workers can help keep the office restrooms clean by using general etiquette. For example, if urine and/or toilet flushing water falls onto the toilet seat whilst you are using it, it is common courtesy to clear it up with toilet roll so that the next user does not have to. This can prevent the spread of germs and bacteria to other places through latching onto the next toilet user, which could also prevent the next user falling ill. Although this may not necessarily be etiquette, but taking your phone into the toilet can contaminate the restroom and other places of the workplace by transporting germs and bacteria into and out of the restroom. By not taking your phone into the restroom, you will be restricting the movement of germs and bacteria into and out of the restroom, making it harder for them to spread. However, general toilet etiquette is not enough to keep germs at bay; regular and thorough cleaning processes need to be applied. For instance, Cleaning thoroughly in and around the toilet, including the exterior of the toilet, will seriously reduce the amount of germs that appear in the restroom. Using disinfectant and toilet cleaner will stop bacteria from spreading and growing, therefore reducing the likelihood of spreading germs and illness to other parts of the workplace. Cleaning the restrooms on a regular basis maintains the cleanliness of the toilet, which minimises the chance of germs and bacteria appearing.
