Chemotherapy also kills healthy cells along with damaged cells and so side effects occur. The side effects depend on the type of drug, amount taken and the duration of the treatment. Chemotherapy could damage the blood producing cells of bone marrow, which affect on the blood cell count. This is very serious matter and it may increase the risk of infection, fatigue and shortness of breath, bleeding and discoloration after minor cuts and injuries.
