Each year Bloomsbury Festival is underpinned by the great enthusiasm and effort of people living and working in the local area who want to be part of this unique 10-day celebration of culture, community and discovery.
The festival has a programme of over one hundred events, exhibitions, workshops and activities. Each one is the result of the personal passions and interests of the people and organisations taking part, and it is truly astounding to see the commitment, knowledge, research and preparation behind the scenes.
Congratulations to all who are participating in, and supporting, the 2024 festival.
The 2024 theme Human.Kind has sparked a wide range of interpretations. Can AI be kind? Should we link these two words in such times of global strife? Is humankind as a word dangerous, or just descriptive? Is it a reflection of our humanity or the state of our everyday human existence?
The exploration of these questions is presented through our extensive programme of music, theatre, films, artworks, talks and walks, and the festival offers the opportunity to visit numerous venues and unusual spaces across our urban landscape and create your own new experiences.
We welcome new venues, new trainees and new participants to the 2024 festival, too numerous to list here. We would particularly like to welcome our new Festival Patron, the President and Provost of UCL, Dr. Michael Spence. We look forward to sharing a great 10 days of festival with you in October this year. Rosemary Richards
