Born in 1970 in Wolfenbüttel, Sybille Hein ranks among the busiest illustrators of children’s books in Germany. In 2010 he was awarded the Catholic Children’s and Young Adults’ Book Prize. Ingrid Godon, born in Flanders in 1958, is an illustrator and graphic designer and lives in Lier. The picture books she has illustrated have been translated into many different languages. She is one of the bestknown international picture-book artists. Born in 1971, Kristina Andres, began her career reading History of Art and Literature, before studying painting under OlavChristopher Jenssen in Hamburg. She lives with her family in Mecklenburg. Since 2004, Andres has been working as a freelance illustrator for publishing houses both in Germany and abroad. Her works have been displayed on numerous occasions in Bologna and were most recently exhibited at the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB) in 2011.

Martin Baltscheit, born 1965, studied at the Folkwangschule in Essen. He is an author, illustrator and voice-over artist and lives in Düsseldorf. His picture book Die Geschichte vom Fuchs, der seinen Verstand verlor was awarded the German Young Adults’ Literature Prize in 2011. He and Ulf K. developed the popular series Der kleine Herr Paul.

Willy Puchner was born in 1952 in Austria. He attended the Austrian Federal Education and Research Institute for Graphics in Vienna, worked as a teacher and then went on to study Philosophy, History and Sociology. Puchner has published numerous books including Die Sehnsucht der Pinguine (1992), Tagebuch der Natur (2001), and most recently Willy Puchners Welt der Farben (2011). Puchner has been a regular contributor to the FAZ newspaper and to a number of exhibitions both in Germany and abroad.

Astrid Lindgren – everyone knows her books, and she means a great deal to children all over the world.
