ENJOY ROTARY!
w
ith pride and privilege, I greet the BEST CLASS Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Waling-waling Davao on the occasion of their installation of club officers for RY 2014–15. The annual changeover of officers provides an opportunity for the club to plan for a big and special fellowship among its members and promote their club, along with its service projects to the public. Our district’s thrust for the year is to encourage our Rotarians to go for simple activities and projects which will nonetheless be aligned with the RI theme for the year and the vision for the district. In so doing, Rotarians are able to find pride and fulfillment in their Rotary work early on and start to Enjoy Rotary. This will make them more effective and productive in their service projects — a factor that makes for strong functional clubs. I have good reasons to assume that your President Jannette Valderosa is prepared and excited to take on the responsibility. Hopefully, the members are prepared as well to give their President and the rest of the club officers their strong and unqualified support throughout the Rotary year. On this note, let us all set to work and continue to Light Up Rotary. Remegio G Salanatin District Governor Elect RY2013-2014

A
nother year gone . . . I recall receiving the gavel — both thrilled and scared of the commitment and challenges I took on as president. But how time flies! I am now passing the gavel on to the next president. I am so glad to have been president of RCWWD, and equally proud to have had the opportunity to lead a group of beautiful, outstanding, dedicated and committed women who, despite diverse backgrounds, become one when serving the society. It was an unforgettable, lifechanging journey — a journey that I took to “Engage Rotary”. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to my officers and board and the general membership who helped me along the way and made me a true Rotarian! As DG Ed Chiongbian once said to me, it was a "Rotary moment". I wish incoming President Jannette Valderosa and her Board the best for RY2014-2015. With her leadership I am sure our club will Light Up once again! Mabuhay ang RCWWD!

G
reetings of Peace and Light!
This night signals the start of a new chapter in my life as a Rotarian. To lead an outstanding organization like the Rotary Club of Waling-Waling Davao is no mean feat. The task becomes even more daunting because I am following the footsteps of my predecessors who have made considerable achievements. I am confident however, that with the support and cooperation of everyone, I will be able to perform the role expected of me as your President. Putting to heart this year's theme, our objectives can be summed up in the acronym L.I.G.H.T.—
Literacy and Basic Education Improvement of Economy and Community Development
Guarding Water and
Sanitation
Health of Mothers and Children and Prevention of Diseases
Tireless Efforts to Peace Our projects and activities will be anchored on these thrusts. My fellow Rotarians, only with our unified efforts can we truly Light up Rotary and make a significant difference and relevant contribution to society.
Jannette M Valderosa President, RY2014-2015
