Bill Gilroy ‘65 writes that he came out of retirement once again and accepted an offer to be the Assistant Varsity Tennis Coach at Severn School. Severn was playing its first year in the MIAA “A” Conference and ended the regular season undefeated. During the campaign the Admirals defeated longtime tennis power Gilman, a perennial “A” Conference champion contender. Severn’s #1 singles player finished the regular season and the end of year tournament undefeated, and its #1 doubles team finished the regular season undefeated before losing for the first time in the tournament finals, s to Gilman. Bill’s grandson, Aiden, a sophomore at Severn, was on the #1 doubles team, and his father, Bill, is BL Class of 1992. Bill ’65 writes, “It was a remarkable accomplishment for a team that had just moved up from the “B” Conference to the “A” Conference to finish undefeated and the #1 seed for the tournament. When I was asked to coach tennis for the first time a few years ago, I was reluctant since I had only coached lacrosse and basketball in the past. But I was encouraged by Severn’s head coach to do so, and it has been quite a unique experience... [I] hope to coach again next year since we are only losing one senior from the team and anticipate being able to do well in the A Conference again!” Doug Loizeaux ‘68 reports that his son Ian ‘02 was in town last spring. Ian and his family continue to live in London and came to Baltimore with his five-month old son Jack. Doug wrote, “Baby Jack, the denizen of London and a UK citizen, was served a Baltimore dinner of crab soup, crab cakes, tomatoes, and corn on the cob [all] washed down with a ‘Natty Boh’...and a dessert of Berger cookies. Ain’t life grand, Hon!?” Doug’s father Jack Loizeaux ‘35 was the winner of the Alumni Cup for “leadership based on character” his senior year and was named a BL Distinguished Alumnus in 2000. Doug was named a Distinguished Alumnus in 2018.
Allen Stockbridge ‘71 is the designated Managing Broker at eXp Commercial for the state of Washington. eXp is a high-tech real estate brokerage platform with 40,000 residential agents worldwide and a new commercial division. He is a graduate of Towson University with an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Smith Business School and also has a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law. Tom Thompson ‘71 shared his latest sailing adventure to his friends. Tom writes: “I made it to St. Augustine, Florida from Middle River, Maryland. It took me a month to get there. I was worn out and did not feel like going any further south. My phone went in the drink... I am still putting my contacts back in my new phone.”
Brandon Gaines ‘72 is a managing partner at Berkshire Hathaway Homesale Realty in Baltimore. He started his real estate career in 1977 at the venerable W. H. C. Wilson and Company realtors in Roland Park. Brandon is a graduate of Denison University and all four of his sons are graduates of BL.
John King ‘73 is the president and founder of TELigence Partners, a company that provides telecommunications and information technology procurement and implementation consulting and project management services to forward-thinking businesses throughout Vermont and the northeast. wife Melissa this summer in Asheville, NC. “Willy” established a restaurant 10 years ago called Chiesa (Italian for church) and recently sold the business while maintaining a minority interest.
Jay Guyther ‘74 is a Media Measurement Research and Marketing Consultant for the FTC Monitor/Arbitron-Nielsen Consent Decree. He has over 30 years of experience in audience measurement and media research, marketing and product management, both in the US and internationally. From 19842009 he was with Arbitron, the radio ratings research supplier in the US, where he co-wrote the business plan to introduce electronic audience measurement in the 50 largest radio markets and was the senior executive responsible for its implementation. Jay is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland and also has his MBA from Loyola.
Harry Rodgers ‘74 is partner and the Chief Marketing Officer at PIUS (Patent Insurance Underwriting Services) in Baltimore. His company helps clients obtain larger loan amounts at better rates by utilizing a company’s intellectual property as collateral. PIUS’ proprietary insurance product provides a credit enhancement for growing companies to secure better financing options. He is also a principal at HWR Consulting, LLC specializing in Risk Management and Risk Finance consulting. Harry is a graduate of the Phil Heldrich ‘75 is an Executive Vice President and Washington Division President at Premier Bank. Phil has been in the banking industry for over 30 years. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University. John Macsherry ‘75 is an Independent Consultant for JHM Realty, LLC. John has been in the commercial real estate development business since 1985. He is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland and has his MBA in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School.
Stuart May ‘75 is the Director of Husbandry and Operations at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Stuart and his wife Pia live in Morehead City, NC. President/Investments and Branch Manager at Stifel in St. Louis, MO. He is a graduate of Principia College of Illinois.
Jason Carter ‘76 is a Senior Mechanical Estimator at JCM Associates. The company is one of the most respected and sought after mechanical contractors in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Founded in 1987 JCM Associates, Inc. quickly established itself as an industry leader. Jason is a graduate of Towson University.
David Meyers ‘76 is a Field Account Representative at Grainger in the Baltimore area. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and also has his MBA from Loyola University Maryland. David is a member of BL’s Board of Visitors.
Andy Mullins ‘76 is the President of Summit Building Services, Inc. His company has provided 25 years in the facilities maintenance/janitorial field servicing many small and large companies in the Baltimore/ Washington area. Andy is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
John Pierson ‘76 is Vice-President/ Senior Sales Executive at Lyons Companies. Lyons Companies, founded in 1984, is an independent risk management and insurance brokerage firm serving clients across the United States and abroad. John has over 30 years in the insurance business. He is a graduate of Washington College.
Lorenzo Ascoli ‘77 is a Financial Advisor, Vice President - Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors in Bethesda, MD. He is a graduate of Georgetown University with an MBA from George Washington University.




Geoff Brent ‘77 is Senior Vice President - Financial Advisor and Senior Portfolio Manager at RBC Wealth Management in Baltimore. Geoff is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and is currently the president of Boys’ Latin’s Board of Trustees.
Matt Schofield ‘77 has been a pediatrician in the Boston area for 30 years or so. He is now deep in his “retirement planning!” He lives in Cambridge and has a small farm in Maine. He is looking forward to more gardening, raising chickens and goats, and canoeing on the local rivers. His wife Jessie is a retired librarian and keeps herself busy in their community. He writes: “My kids are grown. My daughter Rebecca is 32 and lives in Boston. She is an urban planner focusing on developing affordable housing. My son Benjamin is 28 and lives in Brooklyn NY...Life is good.”
Dave Wilder ‘77 is a Project and Construction Manager in the Baltimore area with 33 years of experience managing spent fuel storage, outage services, decommissioning and demolition and environmental remediation projects for nuclear utilities, the Department of Energy, USACE, and major chemical manufacturing companies throughout the US and UK. He is a graduate of Ithaca College and also holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Law from the University of Baltimore. Roland Harvey ‘80 is the Founder and President at Natural Concerns, a full-service residential and commercial landscaping company. The expertise Roland has assembled at Natural Concerns reflects many years of training and experience in landscape design, installation and maintenance. His staff members – some of whom have degrees in horticulture and many of whom have worked in the landscaping field for over 30 years – are continuing at Natural Concerns the dedication and expertise that they individually refined. Since 1989, Roland’s company has been committed to providing staff members with the training and opportunities that enable them to continue learning, to grow into leadership positions, and to develop their full potential. Glenford Hynson ‘80 is a District General Agent for Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company in the Oregon/Idaho Territory recruiting brokers and agents. His company is a market leader in benefits education and delivery, innovative enrollment technology and customer experience. He is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College.
John Alfriend ‘81 is a Senior Underwriter, National Specialty Programs, at Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) - formerly Allrisks Ltd. - in Hunt Valley, MD. RSG is an international specialty insurance organization that provides innovative solutions for brokers, agents and insurance carriers. John has been working for his firm for almost 25 years. He is a graduate of Towson University.
Edgar Johansson ‘81 is past president and past Chairman of the Board for the Colorado Space Business Roundtable (CSBR) and works closely with the Colorado Space Coalition. He is a graduate of the “Leadership Program of the Rockies” as well as the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder’s “50 for Colorado” program. Edgar was the recipient of the 2003 Communications Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Colorado, Denver where he holds a degree in Communication (focus on international business and Asian studies). Edgar has studied the Japanese language, culture and history in the United States at Metro State College, the University of Colorado and at the Japan Center for Michigan University in Hikone, Japan. He is the President of BL’s Colorado Alumni Chapter and spearheaded his class’s 40th reunion this past spring. the Baltimore Messenger picture that he found of him riding his bike home after his Class of ‘81 graduation. He writes: “Because [my] grandparents [attended graduation], there was no room in the car [for me.] The photographer stood at the bottom of the hill on Roland Ave opposite Roland Park Public School, just before the Enoch Pratt Library Branch. Not having a car, I rode my bike the three miles each way, rain or shine, year round. A day or so later, that bike and I were on our way to Germany for a six-week bike tour that would sadly be cut short when the bike was stolen in week five, just before I was going to see a Tour de France time trial stage in Mulhouse, France.”
Dick Bagby ‘82 is the founder of Insurance Partners LLC, an independent insurance agency located in Towson. He has been in the insurance business for nearly 30 years. Dick is a graduate of Washington College and is currently a member of BL’s Board of Trustees. His son is currently attending BL.

Juan Buendia ‘82 Senior Client Advisor at Asset Strategy Consultants and a member of Boys’ Latin’s Investment Committee. Juan spent over 25 years working in New York City, most recently as the Director of Institutional Business in Latin America for Legg Mason. He is a graduate of Loyola University of Maryland with a Master’s degree in International Business and Finance from Brandeis International Business School. Dicky Gaines ‘82 is a Real Estate Agent and Property Manager at Keller Williams Legacy (KW/Legacy.) He has been at KW/Legacy for nearly 20 years. He is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland. His son is a student in BL’s upper school.
Dominic Jordon ‘82 is the Director of State Government Affairs at UPS where he has worked since 1987. He is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a degree in computer science. He also has a BS degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the University of Baltimore
Dwight Mules ‘82 is the Chief Financial Officer at The Bulldog Group, LLC in the Maryland area. His company’s main business lines include truck hauling services, fleet management and construction and aggregate materials supply. Their services are available for projects within the mid-Atlantic region, primarily in the Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia metropolitan area. Dwight is a graduate of the University of Baltimore.
Carroll Roberts ‘82 is a Senior Benefits Advisor for NFP Corporate Services (OH), Inc., a leading insurance broker and consultant, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Carroll is the son of Pere Roberts ‘53. Marshal Morgan ‘85 (pictured second from left) visited Boys’ Latin this spring with his wife Dennise. He is currently a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. He wrote after his visit, “BL brings the best out in all of us.” Marshal is a graduate of Yale University and received his law degree from the University of Baltimore.
Roy Smith ‘85 is a Principle at Class VI New River Fund based out of New York City. Roy lives in Owings Mills and is a member of BL’s Alumni Association Board of Directors. His son is in BL’s upper school. Roy is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Finance and Marketing.
Sean Carrick ‘86 is the Vice President of Identity Operations and Engineering at LPL Financial out of Charlotte, North Carolina. His company is a leader in the retail financial advice market and one of the nation’s largest independent broker/dealers. Sean has his MBA in Information Security from James Madison University. He and his wife Tammy live in Fort Mill, SC.
Kenny Curtis ‘86 is working at FinkInc Media LLC. With more than 25 years in children’s broadcasting, Kenny is well known for founding and creating SiriusXM’s original, awardwinning kids’ channel, known today as “Kids Place Live”. He continues to bring his trademark characterizations to a national audience as the host of the kids’ daily radio program, “The Animal Farm.”
