Piedras Blancas Marine Reserve, by Jasmine Swope.

As 2020 draws to a close on what has been a trying 12 months, those of us who live in Coastal Orange County can agree on one thing, at least— being thankful that we live near the sea.

Laguna Art Museum celebrates California’s 1,100 miles of coast with an exhibition of photos by Jasmine Swope. The Southern California-based artist’s work captures the beauty of the state’s 124 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), the nation’s first statewide system of ocean parks. While the museum is currently closed, the images are available online. Take a moment to appreciate the beautiful, otherworldly essence of California’s marine parks, and our good fortune to live on the coast. The exhibition is scheduled to continue through January 10, 2021.
