Manolopoulos parquet
Client Manolopoulos Constantinos Brief Manolopoulos Parquet is my fathers company in Greece. It exists for 47 years in the industry of wooden floors and together we decided to give company’s a logo and a visual communication system. The main goal was to create a fresh and updated profile as to give a sense of eclectic taste. What we did To create the symbol of the logo i have inspired from the wooden planks which are used for the floors. M & P created from wood planks is our bold logo. For the typography part of the logo we used Futura a sans serif font. The compilation between the symbol and the font arises certainty and consistency˙ what Manolopoulos Parquet’s main characteristics are. As for the colour the use of brown was something normal. One Pantone®, two variations. Further more i created a pattern that will accommodate in some implementations, the back side of the letterhead, cards envelopes etc, and tag lines inspired by the jargon of the profession. The tag lines we saying “We nail it”, “We polish it”, We sand it”, “Attention sticks”and “We got you measured” The new identity was overwhelmed by the clients and suppliers. They also comment that is a bit spunky because of the tag lines.
ionios brokers pitch
Client Ionios Brokers Brief Ionios Brokers is an established company and its activities have to do with insurance, economic and financial industry. They went on with the pitch asking to re-design their logo and re-position their company in the more and more competitive market. What we did Searching the market for the competing companies one thing i was sure of. Use a different colour variations so the would distinguish from competition. Another difficult part was that we had to use the dolphin they already had in their logo. I have created a simplified dolphin coming out of the sea – because we had to distinguish from the competition. Using a serif font was a way to show the value and the impact of the Ionios Brokers. Another issue was to separate the different sectors of the company (insurance, financial, real estate and consulting). The solution was the use of different colours. Finally we created a whole communication system from letterheads and business cards to dress code, in-store interior, web site and ad campaign Unfortunately for me i didn’t win the pitch.

Efpolis Villa branding
Client Kolios Michalis Brief Efpolis Villa was a multi place in the East Attica in Greece. Efpolis could accommodate various events on its sites from wedding receptions to concerts and theatrical plays. People of Efpolis commissioned me to create their logo and branding of the Villa. The target group they were after was mostly wedding receptions. That’s why through their logo and branding they wanted to give a glance of high quality, luxury and professionalism.. eye-d optical store branding
Client eye-d optical store Brief The client was opening a new optical store and asked me to give him a brand name a logo and stationery. What we did The initial idea for the name was “ID” from the word identity. But by the time we reached this name another optical store already used it. So we made a turn and change the letter “I” with the word eye. I believed that “eye-d” was more suitable brand name for the new store. It contained the word eye so you can identify that it has to do with an optical store and all together as “eye-d” gives the meaning of the eye-(i)dentity.
Prodental branding
Client ProDental - Dental services Brief ProDental is a new concept for dental services. ProDental provides the best equipment and the best dentists in the market through insurance contracts. All of the dentists have their own clinic but if someone with a private insurance contract needs a dentist it will go to ProDental’s clinic. ProDental works under a major insurance company in Greece What we did The fact that ProDental was a sub-company we had to create a logo close to the (mother company) logo. Despite being a clinic we avoid the classic colour for clinics (blue, white or even red) to distinguish from competing companies. Our main colours are an orange for the symbol and deep purple for the lettering. As a symbol I created a stylised tooth. For the brand’s name i have used PF® HighwayPro Sans. ProDental wanted to emphasise on the “pro” prefix so we used the bold version of the font and for the Dental an outline version.
B & K Panagiotou branding
Client B. & K. Panagiotou Brief B. & K. Panagiotou is a company installing electrical circuit, cooling and heating systems both in residential and commercial developments. The company was operating many decades from the father of the two owners. Now that they took charge they have changed the name of the company. They wanted to create a new logo and identity so they can reposition their company in the market. What we did The concept for the chosen proposal was to create a unique symbol that could communicate with ease what the company is about. I picked up the first letter of the owners names and illustrate each speciality. For the electrician (letter “B”) I illustrated a cable and for the A/C Technician (letter “K”) a part of a fan. As for the colour pallet. Orange for the symbol and a tint of brown - grey for the typography. Font used, Helvetica

Attica Free Press
Client Attica Free Press Brief The team of Attica Free Press commissioned me and my colleague Vangelis Markoulatos to design the logo and the layout of their newspaper. The newspaper was published in the West Attica suburbs and its contents had to do with issues from this county. Client wanted a newspaper easy to read and also big images. Editor asked less space for texts so journalists write small but meaningful articles. The newspaper would go online too, so we had to bear in mind that. What we did From the beginning we selected one of the best fonts on the market˙ PF® Centro Sans from Parachute® fonts. We used this font for the logo. We kept the font exactly the same and black except the i’s which was coloured red. We did that because of the online presence of the logo. It would lead to “click” at the content. The size of the newspaper was 25x33cm. We used a five column grid with increase gutter width. The use of PF® Centro® Sans helped to the readability of the text. The variety of font weights helped to build the paragraph styles with the use of one font. Subtle colours helped to separate articles and strokes to separate content from ads. Overall we tried to give a clean layout, easy to read and of course gain readers attention. From issue one it had positive feedback from the readers something that had impact to the ads where coming in and the increase of circulation. Unfortunately in 2011 the free press went out of business due to the recession in Greece.
S’h’elf Promotion
Client bluetit studio (aka Thodoris Manolopoulos) Brief I had to create a small booklet to promote my self and my studio bluetit. It was the beginning of my freelance career in Greece and i didn’t want to show anything from previous jobs as an employ. So I created a kind of dictionary of the services I wanted to undertake. Logos, brand, editorial and posters was my main consideration. What we did To solve the issues mention on the brief i came to a core idea. No images, only texts that used as dictionary in a nice and neat layout. For the cover i came up with a play of words. I photographed a shelf in my office and named the whole booklet as S’h’elf promotion. Cyan for the inside pages of the cover with the tag “Addicted to Design”. For the inside pages a classic style with decorated elements and a light grey was used. Typeface I used was Hypatia Sans Pro. I had positive feedback for this booklet. Clients and colleagues loved that I was not only mentioning the terminology of the services I was providing but also the purpose that would be useful to a potential client.
Konstantinos’ baptise photo book
Client Thodoris Manolopoulos' family Brief After my second child's christening I have decided to create a photo album from the pictures we shot during the mysterion. I wanted something neat and simple that will emphasize the atmosphere of this unique moment. Lot of white space and big photos was the no1 goal. What we did I chose to seperate the book in sections. First the place, then the family, the godfather and last the mystery. I have designed the letters I used for the sections titles. From the beginning I had in mind that this photo book will have a hand stitched binding. After a small search I have found a very good bookbinder who provide me all the details were needed so we can achieve the best result. A month later I have finally the two copies in my hands. The end result was perfect. From this project I have learned a lot new things and of course how good chemistry between two professionals can achieve a very fine end result.
