GRITS & GRILLADES Serves 24

I have used this recipe from Jackson’s Junior League cookbook 6RXWKHUQ Sideboards for so many years that my cookbook automatically opens to this Grits & Grillades page. I have served this for family and parties for at least thirty years. Grillades is usually made with veal, but I have cut up roast or round steak – whatHYHU , FDQ ÀQG RQ VDOH 0\ IDPLO\ ORYHV this over cheese grits, but friends have used rice. These ingredients can easily be halved or doubled,

GRILLADES 8 pounds beef (See above.) 1 cup oil J\W ÅV\Y 3 cups onions, chopped 1 bunch green onions, chopped 5 stalks celery, chopped 3 cups green peppers, chopped 2 8-ounce cans tomato sauce 2 teaspoons thyme 2 cups burgundy wine (Use a quality brand. SOUR CREAM MUFFIN BISCUITS This recipe is so easy and has been around for years. Art Showing at Magnolia Hall uring the week of December 9-14, 2019, guest artists Aleksander and Lyuba Titovets were in Natchez to conduct classes at the Mississippi School of Folk Art. One of the events during their visit in Natchez was an art showing of their original oil/ acrylic paintings—portraits, landscapes, figuratives, and still lifes—staged in historic Magnolia Hall, a popular venue for Natchez’s avid arts enthusiasts and expanding arts district. Guests enjoyed wine and cheese while the Titovets offered lively and intriguing commentary about their works. The event was hosted by Fred and Melinda Kent of Natchez in conjunction with The Natchez Garden Club.
