Taj Express to Transport Audiences to Bollywood of India
aj Express: The Bollywood Musical Revue explodes with the sounds of India and Bollywood, capturing the vibrant, expressive spirit of Bollywood movies that have been entertaining billions of people in India for generations. Taj Express follows the story of one man’s passion and another man’s genius. Young composer Shankar struggles with his music, and it’s only when he begins to follow in the footsteps of his idol that he discovers his path to success. The production reveals the secrets of the world's most prolific film industry and the people behind the screen who make the magic in India's factory of dreams. “Through a fusion of film, dance and music, this dazzling international sensation takes audiences on a live
cinematic journey through modern Indian culture and society,” raved Broadway World. “The production is a high energy celebration of new India's pop music, Bollywood culture, and deep traditions featuring colorful costumes, joyful dance and thrilling live music.” With a cast of multitalented performers, Taj Express is an uplifting show full of color, high-energy music and sensational dance scenes choreographed by one of Bollywood’s top young choreographers, Vaibhavi Merchant, and directed by Shruti Merchant. As director of Taj Express, she aims to immerse the audiences in the heart of contemporary Bollywood in a way that’s never been seen before. Tickets are on sale now.

As a composer and producer, Lloyd Webber is one of an elite group of artists to have achieved EGOT status by receiving an Emmy, four Grammys including Best Contemporary Classical Composition for Requiem, his setting of the Latin Requiem mass, an Oscar and eight Tony Awards including the 2018 Special Tony for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. The Waste Land, his most famous work, was first published in 1922. In 1925 he left the bank to become a director of the publishing house of Faber. T.S. Eliot had a great affection for cats, and “Possum” was his alias among his friends. Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats appeared in October 1939 and was the basis for CATS. He received many honors and distinctions, among them the Order of Merit and 9F

What makes a doctor a serial killer?
n a chilling live event, the question of what makes a doctor become a serial killer will be examined in-depth at Booth Playhouse Sept. 19. Tickets are on sale now. Dial Medicine for Murder explores the stories of two of the U.K.’s most notorious serial killers: doctors Harold Shipman and John Bodkin-Adams. Dr. Harold Shipman was eventually found guilty of murdering 15 patients under his care and sentenced to life 16
in prison. A separate investigation estimated Shipman murdered at least 450 of his patients. Dr. John Bodkin-Adams was a general practitioner, convicted fraudster and suspected serial killer. Between 1946 and 1956, more than 160 of his patients died in suspicious circumstances. Of these, 132 left him money or items in their wills. He was tried and acquitted for the murder of one patient in 1957. Continued on next page

Dial Medicine for Murder will compare the background, arrest, trial and legacies of both the killer doctors, interspersed with footage and news items that will examine the victims’ stories and the odd circumstances of multiple deaths. The big questions will be asked: why was one convicted and the other wasn’t, and could it happen again? The event will be hosted by Dr. Harry Brünjes and Dr. Andrew Johns. Johns, a forensic psychiatrist, actually testified in Shipman’s trial. Dial Medicine for Murder has been one of the great successes of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the last two
years, and later toured across the U.K. “The subject matter is sensational,” praised The Times. Dial Medicine for Murder is presented in association with the British American Business Council.

A long tradition of helping our community perform at its best. At Moore & Van Allen we have a long tradition of supporting the arts. Whether they entertain, inspire or simply add beauty to our community, the arts can have an impact on everyone. There are very few things in life that can achieve that. Which, in our minds, is an uncommon art.
