A

quick Wikipedia search will give you small amount of insight into who Jourdan Miller is, but it’s just not enough and will leave you wanting more (someone get on that

STAT). Her Q&A with us has us believing that despite her successes she has kept

a level head about winning America’s Next Top Model and just seems downright humble. She has managed to keep herself from becoming jaded and refuses to quit in this game we call life.

W

hile she may have won back in 2013, that hasn’t stopped her from moving

forward within the fashon industry. She hints to us that she has jewelry line coming out in the future and has also been secretly working on some collabo-

rations with a few clothing brands (spill the beans, girl!). Regardless of how busy she may seem, she was gracious enough to give us a little bit of her time so that you might get to know her a little better. We could continue trying to fill the page space with drivel, but instead we’d like to welcome Jourdan to our pages.

How did you start your modeling career? How did you find out that it was your passion ?

How has your life changed since winning Americas Next top model?

I was discovered in Seattle at the age of 13 and have been working as a model ever since. Honestly, I wanted to be the next Dakota Fanning and become an actress. Everyone called me a drama queen and I used to be able to cry on the spot, but apparently I was blessed with the genes of a model so here I am.

Well, before Top Model, I was working a normal job and trying to figure out what I wanted out of life, then all of a sudden I fell into this amazing opportunity and I’ve been working and traveling all over the world ever since.

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment thus far (aside from ANTM)?

What’s your most funny/ embarrassing story while in your modeling career?

I was almost arrested in Malibu, California while shooting on the beach. I went to change into the next outfit, when all of a My biggest accomplishment so far is the sudden two police officers came out of no gift of being able to inspire others. I receive hundreds of messages from people where telling me I had broken the law for telling me how I have influenced their lives changing in public. I was really scared for a moment, but they left and gave me a for the better. I am so blessed to be able warning. to do that for people.

What do you think are the essential qualities of a Next Top Model I think this applies to all models, but being kind is rule number one. Models should always say thank you and treat others how they would want to be treated. This industry can be very jaded and cutthroat sometimes, so being the sunshine on a cloudy day helps people remember you. What is important to you going forth within you career? I want to inspire people to be the best version of themselves. What was your hardest moment within this experience? Criticism. People are brutal in the creative world and I’ve had to learn how to take things in, without losing sight of who I am

as a person. How can you make an impact with your accomplishments? I really want to give back as much as I can and spread the word about issues that are important to me. I stopped consuming meat in February to help end the abuse of mass produced animals and also spread awareness about global warming and how the two are linked. What’s the best advice you can lend to aspiring models? Who are some of your biggest influences? Best advice would be to be relentless but don’t over-compromise yourself to fit the mold of others. Two of my biggest influences are Chiara Ferragni and of course the legendary Kate Moss.

“It’s important to know your self-worth and not let scrutiny break your spirit.”

50

What are your future plans? Any cool projects in the works ? I have a jewelry line coming out soon that I’ve poured my soul into. The pieces are designed after experiences I’ve been through. I want others to feel empowered when they wear the pieces. I have also been secretly collaborating with a few different clothing brands and I’m really excited to share everything when the time comes. What do you feel is the biggest challenge for models in the industry? Breaking the boundaries, limitations and false understandings that society has placed upon the modeling industry. It’s important to know your self-worth and not let scrutiny break your spirit. If modeling wasn’t your passion, what would you be pursuing? I used to want to be an English teacher, until I became fascinated by the medical industry. It would be so awesome to be a naturopath doctor.

What are some of your guilty pleasures ? Coffee, Ben and Jerry’s and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. What are some of your favorite beauty tips? Being natural is the best way to go. I like to use organic and natural products. We need to get away from the standards of wearing a full face of make up, because I think it can be really damaging to our younger generations. Less is always more. What designers/photographers or creatives do you want to work with most/have already? I have always loved YSL ever since I was a little girl, working for Saint Laurent would be a dream come true. Life Motto? Never quit.
