ALL OVER AGAIN ADZIKO SIMBA GEGELE
ABOUT THE NOVEL Growing up is hard. You know this. And when your mother has X-ray eyes and dances like a wobbling bag of water? When your father’s idea of fun is to put all your money in a savings account and make you get up at 5 am every Sunday morning? When Kenny, Percival Thorton High’s big showoff, is after Christina Parker - your Christina Parker? And when you have a shrimp of a little sister who is the bawlingest little six year old girl in the whole of Riverland? Then growing up is something you not sure you can manage at all. PRAISE FOR A-DZIKO SIMBA GEGELE “Adziko Simba, a British-born poet living in Jamaica, performed her poem ''Crazi Ladi Daze.'' With long arms waving and bare feet moving up and down as if on hot coals ... She was a knockout.” - New York Times “Charming” - The Barcelona Review “The best pieces are by writers who not only have something to say but who have also broken open the secret of story – who feel, and transmit, a sense of the intense pleasure and difficult freedoms of narration. A-dZiko Simba's 'Someone to Tell', about a boy who feels wonder at the sight of an animal giving birth and wants to broadcast this to everybody he meets, is a story about storytelling itself.” - The Telegraph
