The Charles E. Smith Center’s main arena is a versatile space with over 13,000 square feet that can be used for anything from basketball games or concerts to sit down dinners for 1,000 people. With various seating arrangements available to hold up to 5,000 people, the main arena is a perfect space for your large scale event.

The Charles E. Smith Center has two reception areas that can house some of your more intimate event needs. The Colonials Club and Athletic Director’s Clubs are versatile spaces that can be used for a variety of different activities.

The Colonials Club

Our premier reception area with a capacity of 125 people, the Colonials Club feels like an exclusive lounge with courtside views of your event. Amenities that include a full kitchen prep area and bar area will make the Colonials Club perfect for your cocktail reception, sit down lunch or viewing party.

The Athletic Director’s Club

The Athletic Director’s (AD’s) Club is a multifaceted space that can be arranged for your different functions. From a meeting for 10 to a lecture for 100, the AD’s Club is a versatile space that can be catered to your needs. Features • Four flat screen televisions

Natatorium

The Natatorium houses an eight lane, 25-yard lap pool that can be used for swim meets, water polo matches or recreational swimming. The bleachers in the Natatorium provide seating for 100 people.

Conference Room

The conference room can hold meetings for 20 people and can also be used as a small reception area.

• Pre-wired for press conferences and conference calls

Auxiliary Gyms

• LCD projector and flat screen television

The Charles E. Smith Center houses two auxiliary gym spaces. One gym (120’x35’) has a batting cage and divider and the other gym (120’x52’) has volleyball capabilities.

Brand new concessions concourse with two concessions stands.

Box Office

Renovated box office area with six windows for ticket sales and pickups.
