Memorial Acclamation
When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again.
Great Amen
Priest: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. All: Amen
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Sign of Peace
(You can offer your neighbors a sign of peace and goodwill)
Agnus Dei
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
Note on the Reception of Holy Communion
Catholics believe that the Eucharist is Jesus’ body, blood, soul and divinity; in this sacrament the whole Christ is truly and substantially contained (CCC 1374). Because the celebration of the Eucharist is a sign of the oneness of faith, life, and worship that is realized in the sacrament, members of those churches with whom we are not yet fully united are ordinarily not admitted to Communion. Eucharistic sharing in exceptional circumstances by other Christians requires permission according to the directives of the diocesan bishop and the provisions of canon law.
In this situation, if you are not Catholic (or a Catholic not prepared to receive the sacrament), you are welcome to cross your arms over your chest and receive a prayer or blessing instead.
Priest: Behold the Lamb of God…happy are those called to the supper of the Lamb. All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
Communion Hymn: Seed, Scattered and Sown
Refrain:
Seed, scattered and sown, wheat, gathered and grown, bread, broken and shared as one, the Living bread of God. Vine, fruit of the land, wine, work of our hands, one cup that is shared by all; the Living Cup, the Living Bread of God.
Is not the bread we break, A sharing in our Lord? Is not the cup we bless, the blood of Christ outpoured?
Refrain
The seed which falls on rock will wither and will die, The seed within good ground will flower and have life.
Refrain
As wheat upon the hills was gathered and was grown, so may the Church of God be gathered into one
Refrain Final Blessing
Priest: The Lord be with you
All: And with your spirit
Priest: Go in peace, glorifying the Lord with your life
All: Thanks be to God.
Recessional Hymn: O God Beyond All Praising
O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay, for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end. We lift our hearts before you and wait up on your word; we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord.
Then hear, O gracious Savior; accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our king, and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we’ll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.
