Cindy & Duncan Bennett Editors’ Report
Well the photo competition is over, filling up the pages with fantastic photos has been an absolute pleasure over the past few months and very inspirational. Geoff Harmon on his winning photo competition picture:
The picture was taken up at Tamborine Mountain on one of my normal circuits I do from time to time. It’s a comfortable 2 hours up and back from our place at Redland Bay. Also often get some avocados on my way. The RS was a one owner I picked up in 2005. 26K original klm on the clock. This guy turned up at a club meeting when we were having them at The German Club. Said he had this Pearl White RS for sale. I stood up and said I’ll give you 3G’s for that sight unseen. Which I did. Had to get it trailered home, it was a bit sad and very neglected. He had bought it new to AUS specs while he lived in London and imported it himself. I have all the papers etc and docs. Took it right back to frame, had to remove the gearbox and clutch. The clutch was stuck together, tyres were flat, steering head bearings shot. Had the wheels powder coated, put in new bearings. YSS rear shocks etc, etc. This is my fourth R100RS I have restored and it’s a keeper. Currently done 95K. I have all receipts for everything I have spent on it .
