Esta construcción data del año 1735 y sirvió como acueducto para nutrir a Querétaro con el preciado líquido proveniente del municipio de El Marqués; aunque como románticos empedernidos, los queretanos contamos una historia de amor entre el bienhechor de dicha obra: Juan Antonio de Urrutia y Arana, Marqués de la Villa del Villar del Águila, quien estaba perdidamente enamorado de una monja clarisa, la cual residía, junto con su orden, en un templo bastante lejano de la comunidad de donde se traía el agua; razón por la cual ella le pidió dicha edificación. Aunque el día de hoy no podamos asegurar este mito, Los Arcos no pierden su carácter de parada imperdible de quien nos visita.

This structure dates back to 1735 and served as an aqueduct to nourish Querétaro with the precious liquid, which came from the municipality of El Marqués. What we can confirm is that the food here is finger-licking good, literally; there is no better way to eat gorditas than with your hands, and there are no better gorditas than those made from cracked corn, prepared in abundance within this picturesque town. En 1914 se abandonó nuevamente como estragos de la Revolución, para 1917 se intentó continuar con la obra, pero el proyecto fracasó una vez más. Hoy día la interrupción constante de su fachada e interior es lo que la da aquel místico aspecto, por ello resulta un punto obligado para conocer y fotografiar.

Las Misiones Franciscanas son antiguas construcciones católicas, edificadas con la intención de evangelizar a los pobladores de esa época.
