It is indeed my pleasure to represent the members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, the Beta Nu Zeta Chapter in welcoming you to the 63rd Annual Debutante Ball. These wonderful young ladies have worked hard during the past months in preparing for this event; one in which I believe will be very special for you and them. Many of you have inspired the debutantes and have encouraged them to have the desire, determination, and vision to succeed and because of that, you should celebrate with them as they are formally introduced to society. We are excited to share with you such a beautifully themed occasion, “An Enchanted Evening of Sophistication”, as we present these beautiful young ladies to the community. The Debutante Experience consists of more than just preparing for the Debutante Ball. These young ladies attend workshops, cultural events, and participate in service projects. These activities assist the debutantes in successfully making the transition into young adulthood. The program also consists of fundraising for scholarship funds which ultimately will help to ease the financial burden of a college education. A special “thank you” is extended to everyone who unselfishly supported our debutantes in anyway during this experience. Please know that you have made a positive difference in the lives of these young ladies and the other scholarship recipients. To the parents and families, we thank you for entrusting us with your gifted daughters for this brief time in their lives. Each young lady truly is a unique gift. We have enjoyed them so much. We, also, express our sincerest gratitude to the exceptionally debonair gentlemen who are escorting our debutantes. Your graciousness and dedication are beyond measure, and we are privileged to be on the receiving end of it. To the hardworking, dedicated, and committed Debutante/Scholarship Committee, words alone cannot express my sincere gratitude for your diligent and unwavering dedication to this very important aspect of our sorority. To the chapter members, I thank you for your dedication and hard work, as well. Debutantes, may you realize that with hard work and perseverance many of your dreams will be realized. Stay in touch with us and share all the “good” that you will do and experience in the years to come. Sincerely, Arshena Overton President, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Beta Nu Zeta Chapter, Inc.
Dear Debutantes, Parents, and Friends: On behalf of the members of the Debutante Committee of Beta Nu Zeta Chapter, Incorporated of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, it is an honor to congratulate the beautiful twelve debutantes who will be presented tonight at our 63rd Debutante Ball. It has been a great privilege to watch all twelve of you blossom into the beautiful young ladies you are today. Each of you, are unique and wonderfully designed, and being able to share this experience with you have brought us great joy. You have invested in the blue print for the ladies of the future by raising the bar of service, scholarship, and embracing each other as sisters. Not only have you learned a great deal from us, but also we have learned a lot from you, for this we are very appreciative. Over the course of these few months, we have provided you with the necessary tools to go forth in society, and be the productive young women you are destined to be. Our thoughts go back to that lovely Debutante Induction Ceremony where you each stepped forward to accept your Official Debutante sash and seal the special day by reciting the Debutante oath. As we looked upon you in that moment, we instantly knew the great things you’d do, the great women you’d grow to be, and the great impact you’d have on our lives. Now, as we watch you perform your Debutante dance and make your curtsey into society, we know that the workshops, activities, and etiquette lessons have paid off and you are ready to go forth as young women. To our debonair Marshals and families, thank you for assisting our beloved Debutantes and offering your time and energy to ensure they have a successful and stunning Debutante Ball. We wish you well on your future endeavors, and thank you for your selfless dedication and support. Debutantes, on this evening of enchantment, as you make your grand debut, it has been a pleasure getting to know all of you during this time where you stepped into the unknown and found yourselves in the process. We know that you are going to do great things and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. God bless you and your families and many thanks for allowing us to assist in the development of your future. And now, with jubilant hearts and well wishes, we release you into the world to do the graces that God has bestowed upon your heart. We will miss you, but we know that you are capable of grand things. So we say unto you, congratulations on a job well done, enjoy every moment of this ball, and make us proud!
Warmest Regards, Michelle R. Hawthorne Debutante Chairwoman
