Tribes & Rice Exploring Guangxi and Guizhou - China 9 days / 8 Nights Day 1 Meet your guide and driver at the airport, then transfer to your hotel. Free time at leisure. Overnight in Yangshuo
Day 2 After lunch, have the Bamboo Rafting on Yulong River to admire silently the spectacular landscape, gently pulled by the current; then have leisure cycle through the magnificent karst countryside. You will have your out time and pace to explore the surrounding. Evening Show of Impression Liu Sanjie, created by Zhang Yimou. A cerographical ensemble of mass-tether in a unique location. Overnight in Yangshuo
Day 3 Morning optional activities in Yangshuo like half day kayaking, traditional foot massage or cycling the countryside. After lunch, drive to Longji to reach the “Dragon Backbone� as is commonly known, one of the most beautiful stretches of rice terrace in the country. Overnight in Longji
Day 4 Morning hike along highly panoramical points; you will also pass through two villages particularly worthy of note, Zhongliu and Tiantouzhai. The walk will take up to 4h, depending on your pace. Numerous the photo opportunity along the path. Free time. Overnight in Longji
Day 6 Day 5 Today you will proceed to Guizhou region, and the Dong reign. You will visit first along the way the Chengyang Dong Village (with their Wind & Rain Bridge and the Drum Tower) and then drive to Zhaoxing. There will be opportunity also to walk in the villages of Heli and TangAn along the way. These days will be busy discovering the surrounding areas. We selected what we believe the more representative in order to have contacts with different minorities and to wonder at the best landscapes. Overnight in Zhaoxing
Drive to Jiapang, where close by are the Jiapang Rice terraces and is nestled the Basha village. Today we will approach an area more densely lived by Miao ethnic group – famous for its festivals and the beautiful dress and jewels of its ladies. Overnight in Jiapang
Day 7 Jiapang area is known for the Jiashui Terrace, where you will find the Jiaqu village – a Miao one. Then we will drive to Rongjiang, one of the bigger enclave of the region.
Day 8 Kaili is an area renown for the concentration of traditional villages. Miao is an ethnic group with wide difference among them – visiting different villages will help you understanding how every area, even if located few kilometer away from the other, differ in custom. We drive to Qiaotu Village (habited by Shui People), and then Wuji (Miao Village) known for its batik technique: you will have the chance to sees the process. The itinerary will include two more stops: Datang – so called “short-skirted” Village (Miao), and Langde, before arriving into Kaili that become over the years a sort of little city. Overnight in Kaili
Day 9 Along the way you will have the last chance to visit Matang, where another ethnic group live: the Gejia. Their customs and culture differs from Miao and Dong, and while less colourful than the precedent groups they still follow their custom even when workingin the fields. Transfer to Guiyang Airport with your driver and guide, toward your following destination
