Day 1 Arrival in Colombo/ Transfer to Negombo Arrival and transfer to the hotel and check in to your hotel. Relax for the day. Overnight stay at The Wallawwa, Minuwangoda – Negombo.


Day 2 Negombo – Yapahuwa - Anuradhapura Drive to Anuradhapura, the first capital of the island via Yapahuwa. Yapahuwa was one of the ephemeral capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. The citadel of Yapahuwa lies midway between Kurunagala and Anuradhapura and was built around a huge granite rock rising abruptly almost a hundred meters above the surrounding lowlands. In 1272, King Bhuvenakabahu transferred the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa in the face of Dravidian invasions from South India. Anuradhapura is the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of small sun-dried bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagoba’s (a dagoba is the hemi spherical single shell structure built in most temples, that are said to contain a relic of an important buddhist priest") The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree that is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest documented tree in the world. Overnight stay at The Sanctuary at Tissawewa, Anuradhapura


Day 3 Anuradhapura This morning, your chauffeur guide will meet you after breakfast. Today, you will witness how the ancient glory of Anuradhapura is mixed with a modern day pilgrimage site. The highlights of the ruins include the Brazen Palace, the Ruwanweli Seya Dagoba, the Royal Palace and the Jetwanarama Dagoba and Museum among several other sites. You may also want to visit the twin pools and the Royal Pleasure Garden. Overnight stay at The Sanctuary at Tissawewa, Anuradhapura.


Day 4 Anuradhapura – Aukana – Sigiriya This morning, after breakfast, check out of your hotel. Today you will drive to Sigiriya via Aukana. Aukana Buddha is undoubtedly one of the most magnificent undamaged ancient images in the island. This 5th Century statue, ascribed to King Dhatusena, is 13 meters high Aukana means “ sun-eating “, and the image is best viewed when the sun rises. Optional: Jeep safari to Minneriya National Park – which is known for its birds and herds of elephants. Overnight stay at Wild Grass Nature Resort , Sigiriya.


Day 5 Sigiriya Early morning drive to the base of the Sigiriya fortress to climb the rock fortress. This “fortress in the sky” is a masterpiece of design. Famous for its frescoes, there is much to see including the “Mirror Wall”, palace remains, herb & water gardens. Optional: Elephant back safari. Overnight stay at Wild Grass Nature Resort , Sigiriya.


Day 6 Sigiriya – Dambulla – Matale - Kandy Leave for Kandy, the last capital of the kings via Matale. On the way drive to visit Dambulla which contains Sri Lanka’s finest cave temples within five large caverns. Each cave is decorated with carvings and mural paintings of scenes from the Buddha’s life. Kandy is at 500m (1640ft) above sea level, Sri Lanka’s second city has a climate that is pleasantly cool. Overlooking the north shore of Kandy Lake, in the centre of town, the Temple of the Tooth is a place of pilgrimage for millions of devout Buddhists from all over Sri Lanka. Your chauffeur guide will take you inside the temple today. The Tooth Relic itself is claimed to have come to Sri Lanka some 1600 years ago, when a certain princess from southern India brought it to Anuradhapura, which was then the most powerful kingdom in Sri Lanka. As kings and kingdoms rose and fell, it The existing temple was begun in 1687 and added to by a succession of Kandyan kings over the next 95 years. Evening optional: Enjoy a Kandyan dance performance. Overnight stay at Hotel Suisse, Kandy.


Day 8 Day 7 Kandy Drive through Kandy’s hilly countryside to visit Degaldoruwa Raja Maha Vihara Cave temple, which was built in the 18th century. Someof the paintings depict scenes from the Jataka Tales. Return to Kandy and enjoy a visit to the Ceylon Tea Museum, located on the premises of the 1925 vintage Hantane Tea Factory. Later this afternoon you can visit the bazaars and the Kandyan Arts Association, or take a lovely drive along the Upper Lake district. Overnight stay at Hotel Suisse, Kandy.

Explore the Knuckles Mountain Range This morning, take a day trip from Kandy to explore the magnificent Knuckles Mountain Range. It is a real paradise for those who love to hike or mountain bike, offering numerous mountainous trails that journey across clear rivers, through dense forests, past flowing waterfalls and lush tea plantations, and alongside terraced paddy fields and colourful Kandyan home gardens. The chance to visit traditional small mountain villages in the area gives an interesting insight into the close-knit atmosphere that such a local community fosters and provides a welcome departure from fast-paced modern day life Overnight stay at Hotel Suisse, Kandy.


Day 9 Kandy – Ratnapura - Kalawana This morning, depart from Kandy and drive to Ratnapura from where you will embark on a visit to the Sinharaja Rain Forest. Ratnapura means City of Gems and is one of the main centers of Sri Lanka’s precious stone industry. Today if you like, you can also visit The Gem Museum. Overnight stay at Boulder Garden, Kalawana.

Day 10 Sinhraja This morning, take an early morning game drive into the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This tropical rain forest is a living heritage and much of the flora and fauna here is endemic to this region and Sinhraja has been named a World Heritage Site. 
 Overnight stay at Boulder Garden, Kalawana.


Day 11 Kalawana - Galle Drive to Galle the southern capital and port from before Roman times and check in to your hotel. Optional: Lunch at Kahanda Kanda. Overnight stay at Galle Fort Hotel, Galle - Fort.

Day 12 Galle This morning, after breakfast, embark on a visit to the Galle Fort Complex. A continuous rampart, built by the Dutch from the mid 17th century onward and added to by the British, encircles the city, interrupted by 14 massive bastions. The best way to see the fort is to walk the length of the walls (Approx. 90 minutes). Galle Fort has several interesting things including several churches and the new Maritime Museum. Your guide will take you to explore the complex in its entirety. Overnight stay at Galle Fort Hotel, Galle - Fort.


Day 13 Galle – Lunugunga - Colombo Drive to the Capital city of Colombo enroute visiting Lunuganga. The late Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka most influential architect , was responsible for linking the ancient architecture of this land with the of the modern world. Lunuganga – a garden retreat where Bawa’s legacy and perhaps most personal life’s work is today a wondrous and inspiring place to visit and savour. Overnight stay at Colombo Court Yard, Colombo.


Day 14 Colombo This morning, explore the capital of Colombo. Beyond the Dutch Fort district, you can also visit the Hindu Temple at Sea Street, the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal dating back to 1749 and the historic Davatagaha Mosque. You may also visit the Abalangoda Mask Museum. The Karava Fishing Community from the South Western Coast of Sri Lanka has a rich tradition of masks. The complex houses not only the museum, but a workshop where the masks are made by local artisans and a small library as well. Overnight stay at Colombo Court Yard, Colombo.

Day 15 Colombo to Male/ Transfer from Male to Four Seasons Kuda Huraa Transfer to the airport in Colombo for your departure to Male. Upon arrival in Male, you will be greeted at the airport by a Travel Scope representative for your speed boat transfer to your hotel.


Day 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 Four Seasons Kuda Huraa At your leisure in the Maldives

Day 22 Four Seasons Kudaa Hura to Male Your travel Scope representative will meet you at your resort for your speedboat transfer back to the airport in Male for your onward connection.
