• Safeguard Your Vehicle Fire Safety

Fire Safety

It’s not only important to know what to do during a fire, but it’s also essential that you prepare yourself and family before a fire occurs.

•Ensure your smoke detector is not disconnected or covered. •Be familiar with the sound of your fire and smoke alarm system and leave the building immediately upon hearing it. •Know where pull stations and fire extinguishers are located, so they can be activated quickly. •Familiarize yourself with the building and know at least two ways out of the building from your suite. •Be aware of the signs posted in your building providing fire safety information. •Avoid careless smoking. •Rehearse the emergency procedures of your building.

If a fire starts in your home, you need to act quickly. •Leave the area immediately and close each door behind you. •Sound the nearest fire alarm. •Leave the building through the nearest exit. •Call 911. •Use the stairs. If you encounter smoke in the stairway, use an alternate exit and remain calm. The roof is not considered a safe exit.

We strongly encourage you to test your smoke detectors monthly, and recommend that you change the batteries in the detector every six months. Please notify us immediately if you encounter a problem, or if your detector is not working. The safety of our community is everyone’s responsibility, so please be vigilant and conscious of what you can to do contribute to a higher level of safety and security in our community. Working together we can protect you and your home and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
