Overview Established in 1984 by Sam and Van Kolias, Boardwalk has a long and proud history of redefining excellence in apartment and townhome living. Sam Kolias
Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder & Chairman of the Board Sam is Boardwalk’s co-founder, leader and visionary behind the company’s growth and success. As Chairman and CEO, Sam serves the Boardwalk Team of over 1,700 Associates across four provinces. During his more than 34-year career in real estate and executive management, Sam has fostered a strong corporate culture, that guides future growth and encourages the company to create extraordinary experiences for Boardwalk Residents, Associates and partners. Under his leadership, Boardwalk was recognized as one of Western Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2010. Since Sam was appointed Chairman and CEO of Boardwalk, its market capitalization has increased from its $200 thousand IPO in 1994 to $2.18 billion as of December 31, 2018. With over 33,000 rental units representing over 28 million net rentable square feet, Boardwalk has a total enterprise value of over $5 billion.

Roberto A. Geremia President
Roberto has been President of Boardwalk since 2007. Widely regarded for his knowledge, professionalism and integrity, Roberto brings more than 20 years of financial and management experience to his role. As President of Boardwalk REIT, Roberto is responsible for Investor Relations, Finance and Operations. Roberto is a graduate of the University of Calgary where he earned his degree in Commerce in 1990. He achieved his Chartered Accountant designation in 1993 and has been awarded his Fellowship Chartered Accountant (FCA) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. Prior to becoming President, Roberto served as Senior Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer of Boardwalk.

Including Boo at the Zoo, Walk for Wellspring, The Coldest Night of the Year, Hockey Helps the Homeless, blood and food drives, Operation Christmas Child, KidSport, WE are One Benefit Concert, Five Days for the Homeless, seniors and homelessness events/fundraisers, youth mentor programs, Iron and Frost Gala, Stuff a Suite, Feed the Hungry, and many more.
