Boardwalk Water Conservation

Page 1

Did you know that Canada has 20% of Earth’s freshwater? From now until September 30, 2022, Boardwalk is hosting a friendly competition between five Edmonton communities to see who can be the most water conscious. Although we’re lucky to live in a water-rich country, we should all still strive to conserve water. On average, Canadians use about 300 litres of water per person per day – one of the highest consumption rates in the world! Not only will we be working towards a more sustainable future, but all the funds saved from this challenge will be reinvested back into your community to fund further sustainability initiatives! This could include adding additional green spaces, community gardens, introducing native plant species and more. Here’s where we were at this time last year: TOTAL WATER USAGE (M3)*

Together, we can protect Earth’s water for generations to come! When it comes to saving water, every drop counts. Making small adjustments to your everyday water usage may sound scary, but there is no need to feel like a fish out of water!
