FUTURE

Faith.

Family.

Future.

Excel in providing a premier academic experience with a Christian perspective.

Maintain our positive, encouraging family environment.

Prepare for the future needs of our students and families.

Since its inception in 1949, First Baptist School has offered a collegepreparatory education in a familyoriented environment. Talented and caring faculty members inspire and encourage students to develop in mind, body, and spirit. We are dedicated to building lasting relationships with our alumni, as we seek to serve the needs of every family in our school.

Our historic campus has served the needs of students for generations, but is now in need of revitalization and expansion. To that goal, our next step is the construction of a beautiful and spacious high school academic building on our James Island Campus. High school students will have the latest in classroom technology in the beautiful setting of our new campus.

First Baptist School has a strategic goal of preparing students academically for college and graduate education while also teaching Christian faith and values. We will continue and expand upon this goal, challenging students to discover and live their faith. Students will have the advantage of hands-on mission projects, volunteer activities in the community, and developing a consistent biblical world view.

Dear First Baptist School Family, In September 2015, we conducted an in-depth case study to prepare for the future of First Baptist School. We held focus groups of parents, grandparents, alumni, students, and church members to help us identify our most important priorities. The report came back unanimous with three key areas of focus:

Faith. Family. Future is a three-year, $3 million dollar campaign which focuses on First Baptist School’s key impact areas.

Students will have convenient access to sports and fine arts activities after school. The existing Athletic Center will have the mezzanine space finished to include a contemporary art loft, dance studio, music room, and fitness center. Once the High School has moved to these new facilities on James Island, we can begin work on the existing campus to serve our Lower School students. The current elementary building will be completely replaced with new classrooms for preschool and elementary students. Our goal is to prepare students for a great future, providing the best in Christian education for generations to come! In order to accomplish these important priorities, together we are embarking on the Faith. Family. Future. Campaign a 3 year, $3 million dollar effort. This is a lofty goal, but we believe that our mission is important enough that you will want to join us in making this vision a reality! I ask that you please consider making an investment in the future of First Baptist School by contributing to the Faith. Family. Future. Campaign, and that you keep our campaign in your prayers as we prepare for an exciting future at First Baptist School! With deepest appreciation,

Thomas Mullins Head of School

Faith

First Baptist School is built upon a vibrant and active faith in God. We believe that every person is made in God’s image, every person has worth and value, and that God has a good plan for each student to discover. Jesus gave us two great commandments: love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. These enduring values are the heartbeat of First Baptist School.

I like that chapel has songs about Jesus and you can sing up to God and you can feel Jesus is with you. There is room for everyone here and we can all worship God and the songs help us tell people about God. We hear about people who go to other parts of the world and tell people about God. I have learned that praying can help connect you to God and you can hear him in your heart telling you to do the right thing.

Family At First Baptist School we are unique Each child is treated like our own Every child is a gift from God There is culture here that goes deeper than our walls It’s a culture of love and that will never, ever change Because WE ARE FAMILY

For the past eighteen years, First Baptist School has provided an excellent learning environment for my family. This caring community has helped identify and nurture strengths in each of my three daughters, who have received outstanding academic, spiritual, artistic, athletic, and leadership opportunities as members of the First Baptist School family

Future

We are preparing leaders for tomorrow by offering an academically rich education with a Christian perspective. We are producing scholars, ministers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and artists who are prepared to lead in the future.

My experience at First Baptist has molded me into the person that I am today. I will forever cherish the relationships I made with my fellow classmates and teachers. First Baptist taught me how to handle myself during my highest achieving moments, but also through my greatest struggles. After just four years I learned how to speak for myself, think independently, listen to others, and lend a hand to those in need. These lessons are a reflection of the unique classical education that is offered at First Baptist School. The First Baptist community is vibrant and welcoming. The faculty and student body are dedicated to faith, education, and volunteerism. A top of the line facility is the only thing the school and its community is missing.
