Wecome to the Magnuson Livestock & Powerline Genetics Annual Bull Sale!

We are continuing to breed cattle for the mountains that offer rancher convenience and vigor at birth, growth during development, and longevity regardless of their end point.

We once again shipped the bulls to Laramie, WY the 1st of October, where they spent 6 weeks at 7,200 feet prior to be being PAP tested by Dr. Tim Holt, DVM. We repeated our pass rate from the previus year of 86% which is well above the normal. We attribute that success with our attention to genetics and our drive to never stop improving.

We have brought you some new genetics with the Power Ball’s. Those cattle were very popular during the January sale in Arapahoe, and we have high hopes for them going forward. The Big Easys have been a consistent group out here, and they check the boxes.

If there is anything we can do leading up to the sale to assist in your selection process or answer any questions, be sure to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued business!

On behalf of the staff of Powerline Genetics and Magnuson Livestock we would like to express our appreciation for your friendship and business.

As we look to the future of the cow business, we can see a lot of positive indicators coming into play. Some of these are lower cow numbers as a result of the widespread drought. Demand for beef both domestically and export markets are strong. Additional processing plants coming on line will increase competition between packers. Also, the good precipitation that we are seeing across the western and central states could help to lower feed costs. With these things in place the next few years look good.

Something to consider---As the Lord blesses us with relief from the drought, and pastures and rangeland come back to better production. We are given the opportunity to build back some cow numbers. The bulls we turn out this spring will produce the heifers that will be our producing cows for the years to come. With this in mind, investing in the best genetics with proven production and efficiencies become a very important factor. Buy the best genetics you can afford!!

Powerline Genetics continue to guide their multipliers to produce and bring us the leading, most efficient, and marketable genetics that are available to your industry today.

We want to thank Big Blue Sale Barn, all their buyers, all you cow calf producers that we are blessed to know and to do business with, for the great people you are and all you’ve done.

We ranchers are eternal optimists. It looks like the time for our optimism, through tough times is about to pay off with some good years ahead of us.

Stay the course with the practices that our marketing program have been able to build upon. These being good health programs, using Powerline Genetics bulls, cattle source and health verification and good cattle handling practices.

Thank you again,

The Magnuson Family
