Welcome to the sale!
Welcome Customers, Friends and Family to the 2023 Seward Cattle Company High Altitude Bull Sale!
We have been working hard to put a set of bulls together that meet your needs as ranchers and cattlemen with calving ease, big weaning weights, and low PAP scores. We still believe heart health is a driving factor of longevity in your herds as well as getting cattle all the way through the feeding process in the yard.
The cattle we fed last year did very well, and we thank you for continuing to raise the kind that thrive in our feeding environments.
There has been a tremendous amount of interest in heifer bulls from our program. This year we have identified the bulls we feel are safe options for use on heifers.
Due to the unpredictability of mother nature, and the vast amounts of snow fall in your area, we have decided to go back to a broadcast sale on DV Auction. Videos will be available around April 25th for your viewing. Weather permitting, we will ship bulls to the Mountain View/Lonetree area the week of May 15th. At that time, Wade will contact you to make further arrangements for picking up your bulls. He would like to have them picked up within a week of their arrival.
We welcome anyone who wishes to attend the sale in person in Yuma. If you would like to be on the phone on sale day, please contact one of the sale day phones to assist you. Be sure to reach out if you have any questions about the cattle or the bidding process.
Thank you, George and Kelly

Guarantee
All bulls have been scrotal measured, and fertility tested prior to the sale and are guaranteed breeders at time of sale. The guarantee becomes void if the bull suffers from an injury or disease after leaving Seward’s possession or by the negligence or willful misconduct of the buyer. In the event that a bull fails a subsequent semen test after purchase and prior to turnout, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact Seward Cattle Co. or Wade Stephens immediately so that the situation can be remedied. Sewards then have the right to re-test the bull. If at that time, it is determined that the bull is unable to breed cows, the seller at their discretion, will issue credit for another sale, or replace the animal with another of equal value in full settlement and satisfaction. In no event shall the seller bear the responsibility of more than the purchase price.
Mortality and Loss of Use Coverage
Seward Cattle Co. has insurance available for the first breeding season for all bulls sold on their May 5th sale. The coverage will provide traditional full Mortality coverage for death from all natural and accidental causes from the date of purchase through August 31st, 2023. Additionally, Loss of Use coverage is for in the event that a bull is unable to naturally cover cows due to injury. Examples of such injuries include stifle, broken leg, or broken tool. All injuries must be diagnosed by a veterinarian and immediately reported to Seward Cattle Co. A claim shall occur if after fourteen continuous days following the date of diagnosis and first report, the bull cannot be returned to natural service. Loss of Use Claims will be settled at 80% of the purchase price until July 15th, 2022 and 60% of the purchase price from July 16th, 2022 through August 31st, 2023. Mortality and Loss of Use coverage is 5% of the purchase price due at settlement on sale day.
Salvage, if any belongs to Seward Cattle Co. Injured bulls shall be returned to Seward Cattle Co or Wade Stephens before settlement will be made. It is the full responsibility of the buyer to maintain the salvage value of the bull until returned to Sewards. Failure to do so results in negligence and voids this policy. Applicable settlement will be made after any salvage value has been determined. Settlement can be check or credit towards another Seward Cattle Co. sale.
