Profile Good architecture is in my view the construct of space serving a function, designed to be measured by the human senses. It is simultaneously designed in relation to its context which is why I chose to study the themes of Tectonic and Sustainability design for my Master of Science in Architectural Engineering. I am passionate about what I do and I strive to challenge myself and my understanding of architecture constantly through learning both practically and theoretically. When it comes to work I feel dedication expressed through responsibility and respect towards my collaborators. I am handy when it comes to solving practical and technical obstacles and I am always ready to help out and be flexible if it is needed.
2D/3D Drafting & Parametric modeling Energy, indoor-climate and structural simulations and strategies
Software vocabulary I am in general deft when it comes to IT however the 4-point scale is a relative indication of my current competencies within specific software ranging from basic to expert user.

Thesis, AAU Anders Bochardt & Lars Tønnes Petersen Marie Frier Hvejsel, Christain Frier 2015 Eternitten, Aalborg, Denmark 8000 m2, 8 Storeys
The thesis started out as a business collaboration with company in need of inspiration and a personal need to challenge the idea of renovation and transformation.

The project consists of a theoretical part of developing an alternative method to approach the growing need to reuse the common building stock, while the practical part was to challenge the method on an actual project. The final project is a result of the dialog that came from this iterative process. Working with existing buildings is popularly done through transformation, where the building undergoes a complete change and becomes something else entirely. We were looking to develop a method of tectonic alteration, less intrusive to the existing building and based on tectonic values. Altering the industrial function to accommodate an entirely new functions while not loosing its . The collaboration with an investor and entrepeneur gave insight to the realities of the market as well as understand many aspects, otherwise taken for granted in relation to reusing a building. The project takes point of departure in the history of the site, the construct of the old buildings and the current situation of the site. The new structure builds upon the old and creates elevated plateaus for recreation spaces and dwellings. The light conditions and views are greatly improved for the dwellings and it creates a vertical transition from the public to the private, which is also visible in different design of the vegetated plateaus. Sustainable City Dwelling - Master project Project Members Year Location Area Status
Master Project, AAU 5 2014 Aalborg, Denmark 200.000 m2 Selected for AD:MT model Exhibition 2014
The theme of the project was sustainable dwellings in an urban context and the result is family dwellings in the medium dense city center scape of Aalborg. The project is addressing sustainability on both architectural and urban scale. It looks to provide living qualities that attracts people who would move to the suburban areas minimising transportation needs.
Each cluster module consists of 5 dwellings of 2 floors with terrace or garden. The light wood construction serves as storage and seating space in places where insulation is not needed. The facade is made of scorched wood with a built in shading system to control privacy. The dwellings are compact in order to create smaller common areas for socializing in between.

Sorø Orangerie - Freelance Client Job Year Location Area Status
Jostein Haugum Full Commission 2014+ Sorø, Denmark 22 m2 Under Construction
The project was started when the client bought the old bricks of the former Church of Sorø which he used to frame the base and put down the floor. The design and detail is made to relate to the couples 100 year old villa. The construction is of Teak as the classic Orangerie.
All wood, glass and brass was produced from drawings and partly assembled in Indonesia. The client and a carpenter is currently finishing the main structure before the windows and brass fittings are mounted. Expected to be fully done before 2016.

The entire area is in the process of being rebuild and the building is at the border between a new public park and a developing high-rise area. The horizontal library is elevated by two concrete shells that constitutes the basement cover, creating a portal and a public square in between. The elevated building creates a comfortable micro climate with shelter from the heavy rain and the warm sun. The shells are sprinkled with rainwater which in extension to the air circulation will cool the plaza. The glass facade is shaded by a semitransparent exostructure of lamellas made from “yaki suki” or “sugi bahn” bamboo to create a durable shading from the sun while promoting air circulation all around the building envelope.

In addition to assisting the rest of the 140.000 m2 project I was in charge of designing and presenting the solutions to 1000 micro student apartments and make sure that it was in line with the local fire regulation. Each apartment measures
10 m2 including bed/living room, toilet and shower as well as a micro kitchen. The common spaces and the staircase system relates to specific apartments to create community and offers common kitchens, parking, washing and recreational functions.

Cloto Building - Atelier BORONSKI Project Architect Year Location Area Status
Peter Boronski 2013 Kyôto, Japan 3000m2, 9 storeys Build 2014
Cloto is the refurbishment of an old retail building from the 1960’s. The key design issues were the structural stability, the street facade and the interior. The building is located at Horikawa street center of Kyôto and is 8 storeys tall. The concept was to change the light wall-fill with glazing in order to bring more daylight to the building. The facade is covered in stretch metal in order to shade the exposed glazing and play with the visual effect of scale between inside and outside. The material of the mesh should over short time create a subtle patina creating a relation to the surrounding buildings.

During this project I assisted the design processes with CAD models from the original drawings and site survay, exploring building materials and designing technical solutions to mount the facade. I also made the final visualizations for the project.

L’Angelino - GENETO+Pivoto Project Architect Year Location Area Status
Koji Yamanaka 2012 Tatebayashi, Japan 60 m2 Build 2013
I was an open-desk intern at the office during the construction start of this project. I was correctinvg and designing the presentation material while also doing site
survey, lighting design, furniture design, still renders, animation and transportation of the building elements followed by on site construction.
The Project L’Angelino was an intimate collaboration between the client, GENETO and Pivoto as the client wanted to be as much in the process as possible. The Client had a wish to start his own restaurant. However he intended to use the restaurant as a gathering space for the young and creative minds in the local community. It was a tight budget project very much affected by the people participating and their craftsmanship. The whole building was pre cut in Kyôto and transported to Gunma where it was assembled on site. The building envelope consists two layers of plywood filled with polystyrene and a glass fiber exterior coating.
