I was born and raised in Hanoi ‘til 12. Then I moved to Moscow (Russia) with my parents and had been living there for 5 years. At a very young age, I had discovered my passion for design and started to learn Photoshop from online sources since then. But the little me didn’t really have any perception of what graphic design really is at that time. Now, living and studying in Sydney, I have learnt so much from the people here, whose backgrounds are completely different from mind but we all share the same passion for design. What this city has given to me are the artistry enviroment and aesthetic development. It helps to keep my love for graphic design growing stronger and stronger as I learn new things during these past few years.

I always feel an urge to bring what I’ve learnt out here into practice and have an insight look of what this industry really is, in order to pursue my dream of becoming a graphic designer. I am young and un-experienced, I still need to improve and there are so many things out there that I need to learn. What you are giving to me is not just an intern position, but a real life lesson and an opportunity to strengthen my confident as well as abilities. They always say the world out there is not what you expected and the real industry is nothing from what you’ve learnt from school but still, I am not afraid to devote myself for what I love and bring what I love to serve the society.

The given task was to conduct an interview with a printer of our choice and to design a cover and 2 spreads for Desktop magazine to visually support that interview. In this case, mind was Dashing Print. These editorial design was inspired by Joseph MullerBrockmann’s works. The processes of applying CMYK color were demonstrated by having an image with 4 different colors, arranged layer by layer.

A commission for an animation design student. With the idea of giving a voice about the bird capture releasing issue within Asian cultures, her work is a 2 minutes abstract animation, using geometric shapes. This production book describes the processes of making her animation, from researching to problems solving and so on.

Description: Herbal drink packaging
Concept: My project has its original ideas from mobile drink vendor in my country, Vietnam, where herbal drink is sold for a very cheap price and is very popular drink among young Vietnamese. As you have read in my cultural research, back in the days Vietnam was colonized by Chinese. They brought the traditional herbal medicine into Vietnam. Since then, herbal medicine became our first choice when it comes to medical treatments. Based on that historical facts and the healthy benefits of herb, somehow it reminds me to medicine because its health factors.
Therefore, herbs have a close relation to alchemy and physic, since it’s required advanced research and study in alchemy and physic to produce medicine. All of medicinal productions take place in the laboratory. So an idea of using laboratory tool and glassware pop up inside my head. It describes the brand’s values perfectly and would be capable of helping my brand stand out from its competitors. The hosital theme was added to consolidate the health related characteristic of herbs.

The client is looking for a creative solution that helps them reflect their nature business, original ideas and philosophy without spreading a word. The identity should capture the company’s vision and be able to introduce to new and existing customers about the company’s values, not just the product by itself. It should help them to stand out in the competitive field as well.

The primary aim of this project is to promote the company’s business by growing customer’s awareness of herb and its benefits. By expanding their business to a coffee shop model, making healthy herbal drink and selling herbs, the client wishes to attract new customer base, who have not yet got to know all the benefits and the diversity of herbs as well as show them different ways of using herbs.

This is a supportive document for my major project in college, which is to come up with a creative solutions for a herbal drink company. The project includes brand identity and promotional materials. A research was done on Australia’s iconic image and heritage to get a slight idea of what makes Australia Australia. The logo must characterize Australia as a fun, energetic country, a country which possesses many wonderful landscapes and oceans, rich in nature. It must somehow show the growth of Australia’s tourism industry. Australia is the 6th largest country in the world and it is surrounded by oceans. Therefore, the image of the wave was chosen to deliver these informations. The wave is being considered as a symbol for nature.
It delivers the rich in nature feature of Australia. Australia is depicted as a sunburnt country. That’s why the sun stands for Australia. The sun also stands for the passionate of Australians, the energy of the youth, a glorious country. The wave was drawn to resemble a hand embracing the sun as to tell that Australia is enclosed by mother of nature and is granted many gifts. It also shows that people are trying to protect these pristine values.

The main colors of the logo are yellow for the sun and turquoise for the wave. You can see these tone of colors everywhere in Australia: dessert, sunshine, from aborignal paintings, oceans, lakes, beaches, forrest, under the sea, opal etc. Yellow is the happiest color in the specstrum. Yellow also stands for energy, enlightment, hope, wisdom, while blue stands for power, fresh air, calming, conidence. These two colors describe Australia’s characteristics and spirit perfectly

Australia’s tourism industry is facing many problems. It is being threatened by the scores of visitors who seek to explore them since they found little reasons to return because when you have seen it, you have seen it. People should be presented of those undercover wild places, not just the Opera House or Harbour bridge. In an effort to get people to have new expericences of Australia’s culture and lifestyle, the new identity system of Tourism Australia was done to showcase a dynamic lifestyle, the freedom, wilderness and beauties of Australia.

An identity system for a restaurant, specialized in Jamaican and Carribean cuisine, which is owned by George, a former Master Chef contestant. George somehow has built an image throughout the MasterChef series but consumers have never had a chance to taste his food. His aim is to let people experience the real taste of Jamaican/ Caribbean foods as well as to present Jamaican dishes to the world. George wants to present Jamaican cuisine as a spicy, tongue-burn food but really tasty and rich in flavour.
Georges’ background is a typical Jamaican and the specific characteristicts of Jamaican are generous, lively, enthusiastic with big bright smiles. Therefore, I want to emphasize these characteristics by using an image of a smile. Reggae is a part of Jamaican culture, that’s why my logo design was influenced and inspired by reggae with the use of three significant Jamaica colors: red, green, yellow. Red and yellow show the enthusiastic and passionate, while green represents nature and freshness as the ingredients are all organic and fresh.
The smile not just represent the characteristict of Jamaican people, it also conveys the happiness and satisfaction. The red mouth is actually a chilli with bold lips surrounded as if the chilli has been eaten. It shows how hot the food is as the food deliver the authentic taste of Jamaican cuisine.
