It sounds so good to be true especially after showing so much attendance to all your needs and catering for even more. A home away from home and a corporate strategic haven built for the number one citizen of the US. What more can be told? It is a workstation of its own kind. This luxury can only be availed the President of the United States. It is the luxury of having to work on the Presidential jet of the President of the United States. The in-built retractable exit stars serve as an option for exit without passengers relying on conventional airport steps. Air Force One, otherwise known as the world’s most famous plane displays the American flag, the Presidential Seal and the words “United States of America.” It the official aircraft of the United States President, fully equipped to handle any situation militarily, politically or economically accomplished while in the air or in transit. With state-of the-art technology used in building this plane, it has the capacity to withstand severe nuclear attack from the ground. The plane can be refueled in midair in any event of emergency and with the aid of secured communications equipment the aircraft can function as a mobile center of command in any circumstance of threat to the United States. The interior of the aircraft consists of three levels of floor space with a span of 4,000 square feet. In addition to this is the presidential suite which has an oval office, conference room with a large television for teleconferencing, a press area and a washroom. Inclusive is a medical suite which can be transformed into an operating room with a standby doctor. The aircraft also has a facility that can cater for 100 people onboard at a time and it represents the American Presidency and the seat of power. At a moments’ notice Air Force One is ready to embark on trips planned or on emergency for meetings across any part of the world. Supplies are transported ahead of Air Force One through cargo planes in event of the president’s activities in any remote locations. Air Force One has become the answer to the challenges of mobile operations also bearing in mind total security and well-being of the President and the office of the President. In 1944, a Presidential Fleet Management group was launched to address the problems of effective maintenance and operations of the aircraft. One can understand now the cost implications involved to ensure a smooth journey while aboard. Every flight that needs to be air bound gulps $206,337 per hour for operations. Interesting to note is that in 1962, President John F. Kennedy was the first President to fly in an aircraft specifically made for presidential purposes and this has inspired many other countries to follow this trend.
