ERIC’S NEWS Well here we are the start of 2015! Happy New Year to all our lovely Boho Bridespast present & future! I had a particularly stressful end to 2014! What with opening our wonderful Boho Bride Boutique just before Christmas! Of course I was in high demand ! The ladies just couldn’t keep their hands off me! I’ve found if I lie on the floor with my paws up under my chin Im almost certain to get a tummy rub! Ladies are soo predictable, like putty in my hands. There was no rest bite for me over the Christmas break either! Wild bears had snuck into the Garden Centre, so I made sure they knew whose boss! I then had to play Santa for the family! Bless them, they still believe… although I had a heck of a job getting down the chimney! Its was all worth it... my Christmas lunch was fit for a King! Think I ate too much though as couldn’t move all afternoon! (I think Lynette and I are off to Slimming World in a couple of weeks… well someone has to support her!). That’s all from me for now, enjoy our Blogazine and please share it with your friends… until next month my lovelies xxx

TOP 10 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING YOUR WEDDING GOWN 1. You may be seen naked or semi-naked so be prepared! 2. Wedding gowns can take anything from 10 to 18 weeks to arrive in the boutique. If you are having a bespoke gown made it may take even longer. Also remember even ready to wear gowns need altering to fit you perfectly. Alterations can take up 4 weeks so make sure you allow plenty of time to start looking. This means you should allow at least 8 months to find the perfect gown. 3. Fluctuations in weight can be a real issue. When you order your gown the wedding consultant will take your measurements on that day so if you put on weight or lose weight in the time it takes for the gown to arrive in the boutique and it doesn’t fit you will need to allow for the extra cost of alterations. 4. Underwear is a hugely important part of your wedding trousseau it can make all the difference to the look of your gown. At your final fitting make sure you bring the underwear you will be wearing. Along with all your accessories. 5. Personal hygiene - You may sweat at your fittings so don’t be surprised if you do. Putting gowns on and off can be quite hard work and you may have lots of layers surrounding you. A good tip is to wear plenty of non stain antiperspirant. Avoid creams, fake tan and too much makeup the wedding consultant won’t thank you for getting makeup or fake tan on the gowns. The same applies at your fittings; you don’t want to spoil your gown. Simply wear a little make up so you don’t look too au natural. 6. Limit the amount of friends at your trying sessions, too much advice can be confusing and not very productive. Consider sharing your dress fitting fun with your friends via facebook! Page 4

f 7. Try on as many different styles of gowns as possible so that you can see which style suits you the best. What you had in mind as to the perfect style for you may not actually suite you when you put it on so don’t panic. A good consultant will advise you what sort of gowns to try on so don’t be afraid to go with the flow. 8. Make sure you move around in the gown to make sure it feels comfortable sitting down dancing and walking around. Also think about the practicalities, will you need help going to the loo? Perhaps something the chief bridesmaid can help you with!! 9. Set your budget and try to stick to it and allow extra budget for accessories, and lingerie they can add up to quite a bit. Try not to try gowns on that are out of your prise range its just bridal torture!!! Sometimes your venue can inspire the type of gown you like so if you’re having a beach wedding in a hot country don’t choose a gown with lots of layers. 10. Don’t be surprised if the first dress you try on is ‘the one’ it just shows you have done your research and you know what suits you. Also don’t be too disappointed if the style of gown you have your heart set on doesn’t suit you ask the consultant for her recommendations that is her job so be open minded and try on everything she may suggest.

QUIRKY IDEAS TO INSPIRE YOUR BIG DAY! V I S I T

I am a wedding planner based close to Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, and also a Director of Wesley House Events. Ive been planning weddings for nearly twelve years and still find each and every one of them completely unique and memorable. Here are a few of my quirky ideas to make your wedding day stand out.

Do not forget to pay attention to the detail - these personal details will help to make the day so special for all your guests - little things like small bottles of mineral water as your guests leave the church on a warm Summer’s day or shots of mulled cider or wine on a cold day. Serving the wedding breakfast from ‘Lazy Susan’s’ on each table is an interesting and social-able way for the guests to enjoy their meal and makes a change from a buffet or a plated meal. Wonderful tapas dishes can be served over a longer period of time. Or alternatively ask a guest on each table to carve a delicious joint of meat and serve to the other guests on the table – have a chef ’s hat and apron hidden under the chair so that it is a complete surprise! The apron can be printed with your names and the date of the wedding. Don’t forget you can serve a couple of desserts at the wedding breakfast – both your favourite puds which can always been given one “to the girls” and one “to the boys”! Wedding cakes made of cheeses can look quite stunning before being devoured by hungry guests as an evening snack later in the evening! Include small handwritten flags with the names of the cheeses to help your guests choose their favourite. Another delicious alternative later in the evening to keep your guests happy is to have a Hot Chocolate Table with large teapots of hot chocolate and colourful platters of chocolate brownies and gingerbread men with bowls of sweeties and marshmallows! Table stationery can really add to the atmosphere and theming for the day - menus can be neatly written on the name place and placed just inside the napkin allowing the name to be shown at the top - this looks very smart! An alternative to a seating plan board is to have small cards in envelopes giving the name of the guest on the envelope and their table name inside the card - guests then have a surprise as to where they are sitting and the other guests on their table. The envelopes can be placed on a clothed table or alternatively in seed boxes of grass which look such fun! If the budget can stretch an LED Bar and a vodka luge can look quite spectacular, and with a couple of delicious cocktails, can help to really make the party atmosphere in the evening! A fun way to end the evening is for the ushers or bridesmaids to hand out giant sparklers to your guests as you leave, or alternatively book a silent firework arch to drive through as you leave for your honeymoon! As a keepsake for your special day have your wedding invitation printed or embroidered on to a cushion or engraved on to a beautiful silver tray or dish – a memory forever, and wonderful thing to pass on to your children in years to come!
