An RF Shakedown calf combined with our matron Opal cow family. Here is the young gal that caught the early attention of many visitors for her attractive front end and skull, her shapely body capacity, her big pin spread, and her ideal udder attachment and foot quality! In last years FNL sale we sold a very similar built Opal daughter to Hoegl Livestock where she was successfully campaigned bringing home some banners! We have shown this heifer twice this fall so far, where she won her class at one show, and was second in class at Farmfair recently. I repeat myself everytime I talk about the Opal cow family, but when you have over 30 daughters and granddaughters within the herd raising your best calves year after year, its hard not to highlight within each daughter or son you sell! They flat out work! Co-owned with KCH Cattle Co

The most powerful female of our 2022 calf crop would have to be Opal 1K, which made it a hard decision to part with her in this year’s sale. From all angles you really have to appreciate 1K for her stoutness, depth of rib, and overall muscle shape. Pure cow power comes to mind with this calf. Out of our foundation Mader Opal 1E donor you can be confident in the foot quality and utter formation this heifer is sure to have. We really cannot say enough about our Opal cow who we purchased as a past FNL high seller in 2018. She will have roughly more than 10 registered progeny after last year’s calf crop; proof of the quality in her progeny in her short time here. With a few females now coming into production, we can say with confidence that this calf should be a strong producer for her new owners. Her fancy, blaze face maternal sister will sell in this year’s edition of Border City which shows the consistency the Opal cattle have. Whether you are looking to raise high end females or bull calves that tip the scale, 1K should have the potential to do both.
