CHOICE
The study of this project involves the development of a catamaran, which has the ability to change its conformation, to close itself and become a single hull. This feature makes CHOICE an innovative solution because it goes through a major need for any owner: the encumbrance of their boat in a port. The yacht has an important size: 35 meters long and 12 meters wide in double-hull configuration, then a very broad and open living space, but, if necessary, be reduced to 8 meters in width in single-hull configuration so allow him to use less space when docking in a port.The owner still has the choice, whenever it deems necessary, between two different types of boat but with the convenience of having a unique solution in a single body.
Lo studio di questo progetto prevede lo sviluppo di un catamarano che ha la capacità di modificare la propria conformazione, di chiudersi e diventare uno scafo unico. Questa particolarità rende CHOICE una soluzione innovativa perchè va incontro ad un’ importante esigenza di qualsiasi armatore: l’ingombro della propria imbarcazione in un porto. Lo yacht ha delle dimensioni abbastanza importanti: 35 metri di lunghezza per 12 metri di larghezza in configurazione a doppio scafo, quindi uno spazio vivibile molto amplio e aperto, ma che, all’occorrenza, viene ridotto a 8 metri di larghezza in configurazione a monoscafo così da consentire un minor utilizzo di spazio durante l’ormeggio in un porto. L’armatore ha comunque la scelta, ogni qualvolta lo riterrà necessario, tra due tipologie di imbarcazione ma con la comodità di averle in un unica soluzione, in un unico corpo.

FUNCTIONS La particolarità innovativa che contradistingue Choice dal resto delle imbarcazioni tradizionali è il fatto che può aprirsi e passare da una configurazione monoscafo a doppio scafo diventando un catamarano. Tutto questo grazie a dei pistoni, posti sotto il Main Deck, che spingono i due semi-scafi verso l’esterno . I due pistoni sono aiutati dai motori sia nel ricavare energia sia perchè, essendo due motori bow thruster e di conseguenza avendo la capacità di ruotare il piede dell’elica di 360°, la spinta viene supportata spostando il getto dell’elica verso il centro barca. The innovative characteristics that distinguishes Choice from the rest of traditional boats is the fact that it can open and switch from one hull to double hull becoming a catamaran. All this thanks to the pistons, placed under the Main Deck, which push the two half-hulls towards the outside. The two pistons are helped by the engines, aswell as energy retrieval and because, being two bow thruster engines, they have the ability to rotate the foot of the helix of 360 °. The thrust is supported by moving the jet propeller towards the center of the boat .

TWO WHEELS FOR “DC”
A new way to have fun, thrills and adrenaline through two wheels, but with a new vehicle. In fact, this project presents an innovative vehicle for forms, configuration and technologies. The two wheels are not in line like classic bikes, but thanks to a technology that incorporates the idea of seegway, they are side by side. Furthermore, the driving position is very backward thanks to the very advanced center of gravity which allows the balance. It‘s a very suitable vehicle for young dynamic and energetic persons, always looking for new thrills and surpass their limits.
Un nuovo modo di divertirsi, provare forti emozioni e adrenalina pura attraverso le due ruote, ma con un mezzo nuovo. Infatti questo progetto presenta un mezzo innovativo sia per forme, che per configurazione e tecnologie. Le due ruote non sono in linea come le moto classiche ma, grazie ad una tecnologia che riprende l’idea del seegway, sono affiancate. Inoltre la posizione di guida è molto arretrata grazie al baricentro molto avanzato che ne permette l’equilibrio. E’ un veicolo adatto ai giovani molto dinamici e pieni di energie, sempre alla ricerca di emozioni nuove e oltre i limiti.

FUNZIONI /
FUNCTIONS L’utilizzo di materiali innovativi permette di sperimentare nuove tecniche di movimenti delle componenti meccaniche del veicolo. In questo caso il materiale preso in considerazione è il “D3O”, un composto di silicone che inizialmente si presenta come un corpo flessibile ed elastico, ma che ha la capacità di indurirsi e diventare più resistente dell’acciaio non appena viene colpito da un oggetto esterno. L’onda d’urto generata dall’oggetto che va a sbattere contro il D3O fa si che le sue molecole rafforzino istantaneamente i loro legami, per poi ricombinarsi in maniera sparsa tornando allo stato normale. Il D3O viene utilizzato sia sulle ruote che intorno al pilota fungendo da barriera laterale dell’abitacolo. Quando l’uomo deve salire o scendere dal veicolo, il corpo rigido di protezione scende e il D30, essendo al momento elastico, si estende permettendo l’apertura laterale. The use of innovative materials allows to experiment new techniques of motion of the mechanical components of the vehicle. In this case the material taken into consideration is the “D3O”, a silicone compound which initially appears as a flexible and elastic body, but which has the ability to harden and become more resistant than steel as soon as it is struck by an external object. The shock wave generated by the object collides with the d3o molecules makes her instantly strengthen their ties, and then recombine in a sparse manner returning to normal. The d3o is used both on the wheels that around the pilot acting as a barrier side of the passenger compartment. When the man must climb or descend from the vehicle, the rigid body protection falls and the D30, at the time being elastic, extends and allows the side opening.

Anche la ruota presenta un’innovazione molto determinante: il D3O viene utilizzato anche per ammortizzare il veicolo al posto dei tradizionali ammortizzatori. il centro del cerchione, che è fisso sull’asse ruota, è unito al resto della ruota con il D3O che in base alla conformazione del terreno, si allunga e deforma per ammortizzare gli urti. Più il terreno è aspro e tortuoso, e più il D3O si irrigidisce alle sollecitazioni, irrigidendo l’assetto del veicolo quindi aumentandone la tenuta. This project aims to propose a new aesthetic line to the class Expedition, a class of boats that in terms of style is quite classic and has a less strong language. Simple clean lines that define the whole style of the yacht, but revisited in a modern view, which relaunches this boat in the world of pleasure.
Questo progetto ha come obiettivo proporre una nuova linea estetica alla classe Expedition, una categoria di imbarcazioni che a livello stilistico è abbastanza classico e poco forte. Linee semplici che danno pulizia all’intero stile dello yacht, ma anche un’identità vista in chiave moderna, che rilancia quest’imbarcazione nel mondo del diporto.

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft. Developed in the United States of America in the late sixties, flew for the first time in December 1970 and became operational in 1974 with the U.S. Navy. This project is a tribute to one of the most spectacular aircraft that man has ever been able to bring in the sky.
Il Grumman F-14 Tomcat è un aereo da combattimento supersonico bimotore a getto, biposto e con ala a geometria variabile. Sviluppato negli Stati Uniti d’America alla fine degli anni sessanta volò per la prima volta nel dicembre 1970 e divenne operativo nel 1974 con la U.S. Navy. Questo progetto è un omaggio ad uno dei più spettacolari aerei che l’uomo abbia mai saputo portare nei cieli.

The target of this project is to propose an innovative exterior restyling, but especially for the interiors of the sailboat “BAVARIA 40 VISION”. The idea, looking at how the interior of a sailboat of 12 meters may be confined, is to create environments that give the feeling of spaciousness and greater extension than the reality, through measures and structural and chromatic innovations, improving comfort and livability.
Questo progetto ha come obiettivo proporre un restyling innovativo sia per gli esterni ma soprattutto per gli interni per la barca a vela “BAVARIA 40 VISION”. L’idea, guardando quanto ristretti possono essere gli interni di una barca a vela di 12 metri circa, è di creare degli ambienti che diano la sensazione di spaziosità e di maggior estensione rispetto alla realtà, attraverso degli accorgimenti e delle innovazioni sia strutturali che cromatici, migliorando il comfort e la vivibilità.

In the top view you can see that the layout of the rooms remain almost unchanged compared to the current Bavaria 40 vision, but also more space built inside the living room, eliminating the table between sofas and the chart table, and the elimination of a bedroom in favor of expanding the bathroom, which favors the presence of a spacious shower, and an aft locker accessible from the cockpit.
Nel Top si può notare che la disposizione degli ambienti rimane quasi invariata rispetto alla classica del bavaria 40 vision attuale, ma anche il maggiore spazio ricavato all’interno del salotto, eliminando il tavolino centrale tra i divani e il tavolo da carteggio, e l’eliminazione di una camera da letto a poppa a favore di un ampliamento del bagno, che favorisce la presenza di una doccia spaziosa, e di un gavone di poppa accessibile dal pozzetto.

SALOTTO /
SITTING ROOM Il salotto si presenta come un ambiente più ampio rispetto al solito che si può vedere in una barca a vela classica. L’arredamento interno è composto da legno, metallo, e plexiglass, un accostamento di materiali in grado di dare una sensazione di leggerezza sia fisica che estetica. La cucina è composta solamente da un piano in legno e metallo, con la struttura portante a vista, le cassettiere sono indipendenti dal mobile per creare giochi di luce e di trasparenza. La scelta di tonalità cromatiche scure per i legni si contrappone a quella per paratie e soffitto così da creare un contrasto che ravvivi gli interni e dia una sensazione di maggior estensione dell’ambiente.

The living room looks like a larger environment than usual can be see in a classic sailboat. The interior is made from wood, metal, and plexiglass, a combination of materials capable of giving a feeling of lightness, both physical and aesthetic. The kitchen includes only a wooden and metallic top, with the structure in sight, the pedestals are independent from the mobile to create light and transparency. The choice of dark color tones for woods oppose the bulkhead and ceiling so as to create a contrast that enlivens and gives to interiors a feeling of greater extension of the environment.

BAGNO COMUNE /
C O M M O N B AT H R O O M Il bagno comune risulta più ampio rispetto alla versione classica perchè è stata eliminata una camera da letto in poppa quindi allo spazio dedicato al suo ingresso.La mobilia rispecchia lo stile del resto della barca, utilizzando anche qui il legno, il metallo, e il plexiglass, che lascia trasparire la struttura interna, i cassetti, e le tubazioni che prendono una funzione anche estetica. Il wc è incassato in un mobile che all’occorrenza si può utilizzare come ripiano per poggiare oggetti, o semplicemente come panca per sedersi.
The bathroom is wider than the classic version because a bedroom in the stern is rempoved so the space devoted to its input. The furniture reflects the style of the rest of the boat, using wood, metal, and the plexiglass, which reveals the structure inside, drawers, and pipes become an aesthetic function. The toilet is encased in a furniture that can be used as shelf to place objects or simply as a bench.

CAMERA VIP /
The VIP room, the only bedroom located in the stern, is theoretically the most uncomfortable and narrow due to the presence of the well above it, that significantly decreases the height. In this proposal, the room is higher because in the cockpit, instead of the classic benches there are chaise longues which allow, at the height of the backrest, to have more depth below them.
La camera Vip, l’unica camera da letto situata in poppa, è in teoria quella più scomoda e stretta data la presenza del pozzetto sopra di essa che ne diminuisce notevolmente l’altezza. In questa proposta la camera risulta più alta perchè nel pozzetto, al posto delle classiche panche ci sono delle chaise longues che permettono, all’altezza dello schienale, di avere più profondità sotto di esse.

MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedroom, located in the bow of the boat, is large and bright, thanks to the windows located above the bed, and for light colors on the walls and ceiling, adorned with paintings. A television hanging in front of the bed will brighten your stay in the room. Inside there is also a private bathroom for use only by the shipowner.
La camera armatoriale, situata a prua della barca, è ampia e luminosa, sia per la finestratura posta sopra il letto, sia per i colori chiari utilizzati sulle pareti e sul soffitto, arricchiti da quadri. Una tv appesa davanti al letto allieterà la permanenza all’interno della camera. Al suo interno c’è anche un bagno privato ad uso esclusivamente dell’armatore.

FUNCTIONS Un piano in plexiglass e metallo, che copre la cucina, si sposta scorrendo su un binario e diventando il tavolo da pranzo, liberando il piano cucina e il lavandino. Quest’idea permette di eliminare il tavolino fisso tra i divani in modo tale da avere minori ingombri in salotto. Una volta che il tavolo è aperto, il divano del lato cucina si divide in quattro sedie indipendenti, pronte per essere utilizzate durante il pranzo. Le sedie sono fissate a terra con una ventosa in configurazione da pranzo, e agganciate alla parete quando il tavolo è chiuso. Questa soluzione, che aumenta notevolmente gli spazi, è comoda anche da utilizzare come tavolo da carteggio. A plexiglass/metal top, which covers the kitchen, moves sliding on a rail on the wall and making the dining room table, clearing the kitchen floor and the sink.This idea can eliminate the fixed table between sofas in such a way as to have more space in your living room. Once the table is open, the sofa in the kitchen side is divided into four independent chairs, ready to be used during lunch. The chairs are fixed to the ground with a suction cup in dining configuration, and attached to the wall when the table is closed. This solution, which greatly increases the spaces, is also convenient to use as a chart table.

Once the table is moved for lunch, the kitchen floor is free, so you can rotate the tap that folds down and pull up a compartment for plates and glasses. This solution allows to have everything you need in the kitchen, built-into the furniture and hidden from view.
Una volta che il tavolo viene spostato per il pranzo, si libera il piano cucina, di conseguenza si può ruotare il miscelatore abbattibile e tirare verso l’alto un vano porta piatti e bicchieri. Questa soluzione permette di avere tutto l’occorrente in cucina, incassato nella mobilia e nascosto alla vista.

Il divano nella zona Dinette si abbatte e diventa un letto da una piazza e mezzo per ospitare due persone in più oltre le quattro stabilite. Sotto il divano, la struttura che lo sorregge è un gavone per accogliere gli indumenti dei due ospiti o qualsiasi altra cosa. The sofa in the saloon folds down and becomes a bed for one and half to accommodate two more people beyond the four established. The structure tha supports the sofa, is a locker that can accommodate clothing for the guests or anything else.
Anche la tv è incassata nel mobile della dinette, così quando è chiusa può fungere da ripiano e all’occorrenza può aprirsi. The TV is built into the cabinet of the saloon, so when it is closed, it can serve as a shelf and can be opened if necessary.
