IDAHO SCHOOLS: EXPANDING YOUR OPTIONS With 52 percent of Idaho’s jobs of the future requiring certification or licensure and 72 percent demanding related experience, the state’s schools are gearing up to help train a new workforce. The highest-paying jobs require advanced skills in science, technology, engineering and math. Workers in these fields are also less likely to experience long-term unemployment. Idaho’s colleges, universities and high schools are increasing training options, creating a future-ready pool
of workers. Several schools have tapped a $6 million U.S. Department of Labor grant to upgrade lab equipment. Others now offer dual enrollment, allowing students to earn high school and college credits at the same time.
