for each space a specific application Entry The first impression is formed in the entrance area; the showpiece of the building. Here, colour, shape and material are of great importance. From a functional perspective, floors must have a high wear resistance and be easy to clean. This is because the loading of the entrance area is high and dirt is transported by employees and visitors from outside to inside. Hallways Corridors are the arterial roads of educational buildings and guide thousands of pupils, students, teachers and staff members every day from one room to the next. Wear resistance is the major quality these floors must have. In addition, it is important that the material reduces noise and is easy to clean. Connections without thresholds between adjacent areas are required for overall accessibility. The uniform look and feel of these areas creates a relaxing and orderly ambience.

Classrooms Different groups of pupils or students switch classrooms almost every hour. The floors in these areas must be able to withstand heavy foot traffic. And be resistant to the scraping of chairs and the impact of falling objects. Moreover, floors that reduce noise and are easy to clean are
desirable. A spacious and orderly effect provides the necessary relaxed ambience. Science labs Functionality is paramount in science labs where various chemicals are used, including acids and bases. The floors there should therefore be highly chemical resistant. They must also be easy to clean. effect of the whole; the choice of colours and materials has a major impact. The floors not only have to be aesthetically pleasing, they must also be functional. In a canteen, hygiene is of even greater importance; the floor must be easy to keep clean and resistant to caustic cleaning materials. Kitchen / Dishwashing area Kitchens must meet stringent hygiene standards. Clearly, food must be handled responsibly. A seamless, pore-free floor that is easy to clean is a requirement in a kitchen environment. It must be possible to place coved skirting boards along the walls. Moreover, the floor has to be able to withstand kitchen utensils falling on it as well as heavy foot traffic, and needs to remain slip-resistant even when wet. Changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities The floors of changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities must be wear resistant given the high intensity of use. In addition, hygiene is an important point; straight or sharp corners which could trap dirt should be avoided wherever possible. The transition from floor to wall should, therefore, be curved and seamless. This can be achieved with a coved skirting board produced in-situ. An anti-fungal wall coating that is flexible and waterproof provides additional assurance. Sports areas (indoor & outdoor) The floors of indoor and outdoor sports
areas have different requirements. For indoor sports, a multifunctional sports floor is required which is suitable for games, ball sports and gymnastics. A point-elastic floor works best here. Outdoor sports require a surface that is weather resistant, preferably water permeable, spike resistant and sufficiently cushioned for optimal comfort. Library In a library, peace and quiet must be guaranteed as much as possible. Sound insulating flooring contributes to achieving this. In addition, the floor should be wear resistant in order to cope with heavy foot traffic, and it should be easy to clean. Bicycle storage facility A bicycle storage facility should be clean and tidy, and feel fresh and light. The floor finish is important here. It should be easy to clean, it should be durable and it should help to move bicycles quickly along, thanks to a clear routing. Being slip resistant is desirable given that dirt and moisture are often brought in from outdoors. From a safety point of view, a non-slip ramp is required. Functional and beautiful Bolidtop® 700 College is derived from the industrial range of floor systems and is no less than 5 mm thick. This is not a cast floor system but a trowelled floor system. The compound is mixed on site and optimally spread using special screed sledges and power trowels for a wellcompacted and extremely durable, impactand scratch-resistant finish. Bolidrain® This permeable synthetic system is exceptionally well suited for parking roofs and ramps with intensive traffic. The draining Bolidrain® layer of three to five cm thickness prevents the formation of annoying puddles and dangerous situations during frost periods. Compared to asphalt and tiles, the system is lightweight. Due to the mainly seamless application and the open structure it is quiet.
