From Mrs. Faulkner

This week, we have focused the boys’ minds on the theme of ‘Compassion’, whether that is compassion for others or for oneself. Being kind to those around us is such an important part of what makes our school special and it is lovely to see the boys doing just that. Today, a dedicated band of boys joined forces with other children from across Primary Division, to visit the gardens of the Bolton Hospice to offer a helping hand in that most unglamorous of tasks of the autumn tidy up. Whilst they were there, they planted daffodil bulbs which should bloom in the spring to bring some lovely colour to the residents’ garden. Tomorrow we are looking forward to our Harvest Assembly and I have been delighted by the generosity of our families in regards to the donations made for Urban Outreach. If you would still like to donate, it’s not too late collections will be delivered following our assembly tomorrow.

Earlier this week, I enjoyed the pleasure of meeting with a number of very strong candidates for the role of Head of Junior Boys. As you will know from my previous communications, the intention is to recruit a dedicated Head of Park Road who I will work closely with in my role as Head of Primary Division to ensure that our school continues to be such a wonderful place for our boys to grow and learn. I was delighted that we had a very strong field, from whom we selected a large number to attend the first round of interviews this week. What pleased me most though of course did not surprise me at all, was that all of our visitors spoke so positively of their time with the boys and staff of Park Road, noticing what we so easily take for granted, that it is a truly wonderful place filled with kind, polite and hard-working boys who want to do their very best. We will be conducting a second round of interviews before the half term break and I look forward to sharing new s of that appointment with you when I am able.

nominated for Hot Chocolate Friday with Mrs Faulkner last week. They were selected for their ability to deal with challenges when things don’t always go to plan.

Rugby- huge well done to Seb (5C) who was awarded man of the match for his team at Bolton Rugby Club on Sunday.

AJIS Tag Rugby Achievements

‘On Monday afternoon Year 3 had the pleasure of attending a tag Rugby Festival hosted by MGS. The boys played in fantastic spirits and competed excellently in every game they played. What was more impressive was that most of them hadn’t played rugby before, but with the help of a quick briefing before we left they quickly picked up the rules and showed some fantastic skills. Hopefully, this means I will see these boys during my rugby club for Year 3&4 later in the year. Well done

Our first meeting for the Park Road Parents Association will take place on Tuesday 15th October 2024 at 3:30 pm at Park Road. Everyone is welcome.
