HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER
9 OCTOBER 2024
A note from the Head…
Wherever you look in school you can be sure to see our Hesketh Habits.
Communication
I have met the last of our new Year 3 pupils this week and it’s been a pleasure to talk to our new girls. They are full of enthusiasm and excitement for learning at Hesketh House and have settled into school beautifully.
Creativity
Our TTV club have been busy preparing mini films for Hesketh House TV to showcase what’s on in school and our pupils have been excited to see their films displayed there. Do have a look when you next pop into Reception!
Curiosity
I’ve been so impressed with Year 4 and Year 5 Habitats dioramas that our pupils have created as part of their Bronze Reading Award. They have honed research skills and used their creative talents to full to present their findings imaginatively!
Compassion
Our Year 4 Form and Vice-Captains, along with other members of Primary Division, visited Bolton Hospice this week to volunteer and support the hospice gardening team with tidying up the grounds. They planted daffodil bulbs to bring joy to the residents in the Springtime.
Celebration
There’s a buzz and sense of excitement here as we prepare for Open Morning. It’s wonderful to walk around school and see how much has been achieved so far this term. Classrooms are bright and inviting with fabulous displays of pupils’ work.
House Activity Morning
Monday 14 October
Our Hesketh Habits are central to our House Events throughout the year. Our first House Activity Morning is on Monday 14 October. All activities are on the campus and your daughters will need their PE kit. Lunch will be served at Hesketh House as normal.

HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER
9 OCTOBER 2024
Poetry is used all around the world as an important way to express how people are feeling and it is a great way of storytelling. We celebrated National Poetry Day last week with the story of fearless aviator Amelia Earhart. Mrs Worsley shared this beautiful poem with our girls.
Amelia Earhart – by Mandy Coe
‘…fears are paper tigers.’ A ribbon in her hair and mud on her dress Amelia climbs too high then, like any child in a tree, blinks at the dizzying ground and sky. Amelia spreads the map on her knees to light the Atlantic with her torch. She taps the fuel gauge, adjusts her course. The stars seemed near enough to touch.
Amelia’s red Vega roars around a world of cloud and sun and time, and whenever a child defeats her fears, Amelia still climbs.
House Events
Our first House Points Meeting of the year took place on Monday and the girls enjoyed meeting friends from different year groups.
