A note from the Head…
It has been another busy week, particularly for the Year 6 girls who have been doing their Bikeability cycling course. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to learn some new skills. They were also thrilled to meet a Polar explorer on Wednesday.
Year 3 girls have been doing their assessments this week, following a very successful trip to Patterdale Hall. Year 6 visit next week and Year 4 and Year 5 the following week so we have some very excited girls around school at the moment. We are keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather and sunshine! Please follow us on Twitter @BSPDJnrGirls to find out more about everything they get up to.

Explorer Talk
Wednesday 11 May
Year 6 girls met explorer Alex Hibbert on Wednesday, who spoke to them about his expeditions to the NorthPole and theArctic Circle, including several encounters with polar bears! Ganeve writes:
I really enjoyed the Explorer Talk because I found it interesting to learn and listen about the explorer's journeys and how he overcame his setbacks and kept persisting. It was also interesting to learn about the different ways of transport the explorer and his team used to get to the villages and destinations.
Please could I remind you that the girls are not allowed to take mobile phones to Patterdale Hall. If there was an emergency and parents needed to contact the group then the following options are available:
During School Hours – contact should be made with Hesketh House and messages will be passed on to staff at Patterdale.
The Patterdale Hall number is 017684 82233. We will also have a school mobile phone, carried by a member of staff. The number has been sent out by email This should not be used unless there is an‘outofhours’ emergency.
Please assume that ‘no news is good news’! Teachers will contact parents directly if necessary. Staff will endeavour to get pictures on Twitter when possible, but please do understand that the days are very busy with activities and Wi-Fi is only available when in the Hall itself, so opportunities for uploading are limited. The main focus for the staff will be in ensuring that the girls have a fabulous trip!
