A note from the Head…
This week Year 4 and Year 5 girls have enjoyed their visits to Patterdale Hall, and they have been so lucky with lovely weather too! Year 6 had some very informative talks in our Careers Carousel and also helped out Year 9 pupils in a Dragon’s Den exercise. There have been class treat picnics for two forms and the remaining House Swimming Galas have also taken place.
Thank you very much to all the staff who have accompanied the residential trips during the last few weeks, and to the Patterdale team who have looked after us so well. Well done to the girls too, for their effort, resilience and great sense of fun. I think everyone thoroughly deserves their half term break and I hope you all enjoy a lovely week!

Harry Potter Cub Camp
12 – 14 May
With the sun shining, the Cubs arrived on Camp to discover a number of Wanted posters hidden in the Forbidden Forest. This started off the Harry Potter theme to the weekend. All seven Horcruxes had to be overcome before we could sleep safely on Friday evening. After attending potions class, whittling their own wands, creating Hedwig with origami, throwing an axe or two, vanquishing dragons from grass sledges and experimenting with making Butter Beer, a banquet was served in

the Grand Hall complete with floating candles and flying letters. Before collapsing into sleeping bags, we also fitted in a traditional campfire, aided and abetted by Mr Britton.
On Sunday morning, the camp was rounded off with the Triwizard Tournament. Quidditch was definitely popular and hotly contested. When all the House Points were counted Sunrise were the best Six and Gryffindor the winning House!
Individual awards went to:
Akela’s Award – Theo
Hathi's Award – Florence
Best Seconder – Isla
Runners up best Sixer – Om and Shriansh
Best Sixer – Sam and Avni
Many thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their time and contributed their creativity to make this a very memorable weekend, and in particular to 'Akela' - Mrs Hough for such a fabulous camp!
