Over 5 million souls saved in 2008!
Okitipupa was the final Gospel Crusade in 2008. During the 5 meetings there, 480,730 souls received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and filled out a decision card. We are rejoicing in the Lord, who is the Lord of the Harvest.

Great Expectations Many months earlier the call came from Okitipupa in Nigeria, like the call of the Macedonians to Apostle Paul. Pastors there pleaded with the CfaN team to come and hold a Gospel Campaign. Such was the anticipation of what God would do in the crusade that when the team finally arrived in the little town, they were not only welcomed by thousands of cheering Christians who lined the streets, but also by amazing statements from church and community leaders.
What they said in public showed us a glimpse of the great expectations that they had for the upcoming event. A leading clergyman, Bishop E. O. Akinboyo, declared in his welcome speech that, “God sent Joseph to succor the hungry children of Israel. God sent Moses to deliver his covenant people from slavery and subjugation in the land of Egypt. God raised Joshua to lead the children of Israel into the promised land and above all God sent Jesus Christ to deliver the whole world. I dare say that God has sent Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and his team to rescue us from the shackles of sin and its devastating consequences.� A true modern day Macedonian call, and the team led by Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda rose to the challenge from the very start of the crusade.
Power Evangelism From the beginning of the week’s event, the gospel rang out in clear and challenging messages as both Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda preached in different meetings, and each night the response to the call of salvation was massive. Under clear nighttime tropical skies, the people were led to the foot of the cross and committed their lives to Jesus Christ by the tens of thousands at each meeting. Thousands of trained counselors made sure that after all their details hade been recorded for the church based follow-up system, every new convert received a follow-up booklet. These nightly calls to salvation resulted in 480,730 decisions for Jesus over the 5 meetings. From the very first message, the new converts were invited to bring their occult related items to the crusade. Each night, these were thrown into large metal drums and burned with fire as a visible signal that the previous owners had been set completely free in Jesus’ name. Every time this took place it was accompanied by great rejoicing and dancing before the Lord.
The Fire of the Holy Spirit As is always the case at a CfaN campaign, every morning, thousands of registered delegates attended a Fire Conference, which is aimed at inspiring pastors and church workers to take up the challenge of witnessing and evangelism. Thousands Healed After the gospel message each night, prayer was offered up for the many sick and disabled people who had come from all around to receive a touch from the Lord. Many thousands were healed and hundreds pushed forward to the platform after the prayer every night to testify about what had happened.
Over 5 Million saved in 2008! When the final meeting was over, the tired team reflected with humility and joy on the fact that during this year the combined result of all the crusades has been a wonderful harvest of over five million souls brought into the kingdom of God. These are truly days of unparalleled opportunity for the kingdom of God and for any who will go out and preach the Word. And most important of all, there is a great reward for all of you who have made this possible by your prayers and financial support. Jesus said that, “The harvest is great but the workers are few.” It seems that this is still the case after so many years, but by His grace, the Lord is granting much success to the ‘few’ who do go and those who support them.
