The goal is to ensure the role of gastronomy in opening opportunities for people. According to chef Gaston Acurio, this event will once more turn all attention (in the food world) towards Lima, which is slowly imposing itself as a capital for gastronomy in the world. The goal is also to promote the consumption of this healthy and massively produced fruit in Peru. Many cocoa producers are now hoping to see their sample selected to make it to the top 5. The finals will take place July 10 at the Sheraton Hotel in Lima. The cocoa fruit, unknown to many, is a yellow one filled with fresh pulp that surrounds the beans used for chocolate.
