SELF EVALUATION ∞ I got started in Journalism because at the time I wanted to be come just like my sister and help create and amazing yearbook and I’ve enjoyed doing that for the past three years. This year I have learned how to manage time better than last year for deadlines and communicate when I need help. I have also learned how to work with a partner on deadlines and not procrastinate till the last minute because it will leave a work load for the other people and I shouldn’t do that. I’ve gotten better at advertising yearbook as well as selling ads for the yearbook. I’ve learned that when you are dedicated on a deadline, you will be proud of the finish project and this is an amazing things to experience. I experience that with the water polo page because i twas dedicated to giving all my time and effort to make it an amazing page. This year I’ve learned to overcome problems things year. For example with my collar bone, I had to communicate to my advisors and editors to let them know that I'm going to need help on the folio quotes, so I wouldn't be far behind when I came back to school. Also, I’ve learned that setting goals can be very useful for deadlines and this year. All I have to do is to be organized for the goal so I can make deadline on time.
REFLECTION 1 ∞
I would consider it my best work because I’ve made an improvement compared to last year and I’ve put in a lot of time and effort compared to last year. At the beginning it was a little difficult to get started with design that would catch a readers attention but once I got started going I got inspiration along the way which made it design come easier. It was pretty easy for the work evolved from the draft to the final because I looked for inspiration to make the quote page better and interesting and asking for help along the way and getting guidance from editors and working with them. Plus, I asked staffers their opinions if it looks good, which made it easier for me. What I like about the final draft of the design is how it is inspired by a game that everyone was playing and the quote page is a spin off of the game, but is related to Boone.

I would like this photo to represent me because it shows action with the player shotting. You can tell it’s in action because the water is still, yet the player is shooting. It also shows emotion of the player and has good lighting

Attaway stops a shot from a Lake Mary player. “I honestly get so nervous when I see someone pull back for a shot, but adrenaline takes over and, after a save, I just want to get the ball back safely to my team,” Attaway said. Attaway had 13 saves in the game.
Y17: I would like this photo to represent me because it has rule of thirds and is in focus.

I’ve grown in many ways. In one way I’ve have opened up to people and helped people, especially new staffers. For example, this year Cat and Nicole with how to do ads and the process of doing ads and I was able to help them out. I’ve grown in my communication skill by being able to communicate with editors if there is a problem, instead of trying to fix it by myself and feel overwhelmed. As well as with mt communication my ads staff, with helping them out. I’ve grown in designing for ads, quote pages and stories when there are unique pictures that won’t fit for a normal design. My writing has gotten better, but I know that I can make it better and I know that it not as well as I want it to be. My photography skills have gotten better because I toke almost all of the picture on the water polo page. I feel like I’ve made an improvement in my portfolio compared to last year. I feel like this year portfolio is better and show that I’m more simplicity. Even though this portfolio is simple it shows complexity with water color. When last year was black and white photos with a pop color in the photos.

PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ spin the wheel. Junior Autumn Unruh spins clay in Ceramics 2 class. “The wheel is the most important thing I have learned this year. Throwing the base and making the pot is my favorite part,” Unruh said. Unruh finished shaping the vase and then added color.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ serve it up. Freshman
Karsen Herrera serves the ball in the game against Bishop Moore. “[The most difficult part of serving is to] try to get the ball to certain spot [on the court] where coach tells me to [place the ball],” Herrera said. Herrera played libero on the freshman team.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ I’ve got my eyes on you. Ball in arm’s reach, senior Carlyn Attaway stops a shot from a Lake Mary player. “I honestly get so nervous when I see someone pull back for a shot, but adrenaline takes over and, after a save, I just want to get the ball back safely to my team,” Attaway said. PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ heads up. On
March 19, junior Patrick Egan gets ready to take a shot against University. Egan made 32 goals and 15 assists in the season.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ trapped. Stuck
in a corner, sophomore Mandy Hoogvorst holds off a Lake Nona defender and looks for someone to catch his pass. “Our Lake Mary game [was my favorite because] they were supposed to beat us by a lot, but we only lost [by] two points,” Hoogvorst said.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ blast off. To block a shot from a
University player, senior Matthew Livesay jumps out of the water.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ wind it up. Senior Camille Rimmer shoots against Lake Mary on March 6. “[When my team is down], I tell them that we have plenty of time to get back and to leave it all in the pool,” Rimmer said.
PHOTOGRAPHY ∞ on the hunt. In the Lake Mary game,
junior Noah Hughes searches for a teammate to whom he can pass. Hughes made 33 goals, 21 assists and five steals in the season.
