The Early Education and Childcare courses are for people interested in working with children and young people. The courses conform to the registration requirements for the early years workforce with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council). Student work placements are also an integral and important part of these courses.

PDA in Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 8 At Scottish Borders Campus Part-time over 72 weeks (2 academic years) 1 evening per week online delivery

Childhood Practice – HND

HNC in Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 At Scottish Borders Campus 2 days per week blended learning Work placement is an integral part of the course Full-time HND Year 1 – 36 weeks (August – June)

Childhood Practice – HND

HND in Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 8 Online delivery 3 evenings per week online delivery Work placement is an integral part of the course. Employed students can use their workplace Full-time HND Year 2 – 36 weeks (August – June)

Early Education and Childcare – NC

NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6 At Scottish Borders Campus Full-time 36 week course 3 days per week blended learning 1/2 days per week on placement

Early Education and Childcare – National 5

National 5 in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 5 At Scottish Borders Campus 3 days per week blended learning 1 day per week on placement

Dyslexia – PDA

PDA in Dyslexia at SCQF Level 7 At Scottish Borders Campus Part-time – 2 18-week blocks 1 evening per week

Education Support Assistance – PDA

PDA in Education Support Assistance at SCQF Level 6 At Scottish Borders Campus Part-time 72 weeks (2 academic years) 1 evening per week

Credit Value: 8 SCQF points at SCQF Level 7 At Scottish Borders Campus A minimum of 12 weeks 3 hours per week online with additional time for independent study
