On your face! Have you thought much about what it is you're putting on your face? Yes, you, miss £40 designer facial toner lady! Don't do it. You can use the stuff you have in your kitchen – it's natural, homemade and tasty! Got spots? Ok, so this sounds a lil' bit ick, but it WORKS. Plain yoghurt. Yes, slather it on, sit back and relax for 10 minutes (maybe some of those cucumber slices over your eyes – classy), rinse and repeat every other day. The bacteria in the yoghurt love the spots. Use the plain full fat stuff – and for added exfoliation, , throw in a spoonful of oats.

Use raw apple cider vinegar if you want a great skin toner. It contains alpha-hydroxy oxy and amino acids that help dissolve dead skin cells, while also balancing the pH level of your skin. It stimulates the capillaries under the skin, skin so will give you an amazing glow. . Dilute it a bit with some green tea (also an antioxidant).

Extra virgin olive live oil has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory inflammatory properties, promotes skin elasticity, is excellent for exfoliating the skin and is a pretty ace makeup remover. Apply it with a cotton ball. And don't use any of that fancy infused stuff.

For or your mane, try out this amazing conditioning hair mask – I do it fortnightly, and have the best hair (just sayin'): Scoop out half a ripe avocado and throw it in the blender. Add a teaspoon of olive oil so it blends into a paste. Massage it from roots to end (it goes on fairly clear). Wait 10 minutes (maybe eat the rest of the avocado – yum!). Shampoo as usual. usual

You mean you don't want wrinkles? Use turmeric powder. Turmeric has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory inflammatory and anti-bacterial anti properties. Mix together 1 tbsp t gram flour, a pinch inch of turmeric and about 2 tsp of milk. . Rub R onto damp skin instead of soap. It won't turn your skin yellow!

Weird but true: if you want luscious soft lips, then massage a couple of drops of mustard oil into your belly button before you go to sleep. It works – I don't know how, but it does!

So there you have it – quick, easy, natural and not tested on fluffy little bunnies.

CRA FTY Favourite craft groups – Katherine May has recently started her Sunday quilt groups again. They run in Bermondsey, last Sunday of every month and they’re a fabulous place to meet fellow quilters, share ideas and tips and work on your current project. Katherine is a wonderful quilter, a very patient teacher and I love going to her group. http://www.katherinemay.com/

Favourite craft groups – I love going to the Borough Belles craft group. It’s such a lovely bunch of women and it’s great to see all the different projects and have a natter over lovely food. http://boroughbelleswi.wordpress. com/groups-socials/ Gorgeous haberdashery – knitting opened up a whole new world of pretty things14 to me. I just love these tiny little stitch markers, they’re so sweet. They’re from Nest in Crouch End – a truly lovely yarn and haberdashery shop. http://www.handmadenest.co.uk/

I love all things crafty – here’s a few of my current craft related favourites! Favourite yarn shops – Knit with Attitude is my current favourite, I was so delighted to find this tiny little gem in Stokey. The focus is on eco and ethical yarns and they have a great range of Scandinavian yarns. This is where I first discovered milk fibre – a fabulously unusual yarn! http://www.knitwithattitude.com

Favourite yarn shops – Loop is an obvious choice, but I do love this shop! They have an incredible selection of yarns (Old Maiden Aunt is my main weakness) and the shop is so gorgeous. The staff are so friendly and helpful, it’s a real treat to visit – although I can never come away empty handed! http://www.loopknitting.com/

Favourite yarn shops – So this one isn’t technically a London shop, but I discovered it whilst living here, so it still counts! Posh Yarn are my favourite indie dyers – beautiful colours and incredibly soft yarn bases. The skeins are true works of art! Dee runs a super-friendly Ravelry group, it’s a pleasure to be a part of it. I’m giving myself extra competition in the frenzied Sunday night sales by sharing this, so keep this one under your hat..... http://www.poshyarn.co.uk

Being thrifty: these are the places I love..

The fabric stall at East Street Market. It sells Liberty fabrics For £7 a metre which I think is Pretty special! Also at East Street Market is the most Amazing fish shop selling The largest variety of Fish I have ever seen I bought two live crabs for £5 the other day!

La luna pizzeria on the Walworth Road. It’s Margarita pizza is not Only gigantic and delicious it’s also only £6.20!

I also love OHSEW BRIXTON! They have sewing workshops and I recently went to a cushion workshop which was super reasonable and I came out with a cushion that was worthy of pride of place on my sofa : )

16

And for a super refreshing swim (bit cold now!) I like a dip in Brockwell Lido which looks so good you feel like you’re on holiday. And for £6 a swim, is much more affordable than a real holiday.
