“Were this from Napa you’d be paying $25 to $40.” I see that Robert Parker gave it 91 Points and Steven Tanzer 90 Points. Gerald has this to say on the Berola: “Were this from Napa you’d be paying $25 to $40.” I like this wine very much and will buy more. 90 Points. http://goodcheapvino.com/two-at-weimax-wines-not-to-miss/
Borsao Berola DELICIOUS! Bright purple. Ripe cassis and blackberry aromas, with complicating notes of tobacco, fresh herbs and tobacco. Lush and supple on the palate, with sweet black and blue flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Finishes vibrant and focused, with supple tannins and a lingering note of bitter chocolate.-JR International Wine Cellar 90 Points
The 2011 Berola is a 1,400-case blend of 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon It, too, is an unreal value. Wine Advocate The 2011 Berola is a 1,400-case blend of 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged in both French and American oak for 10 months, then given 14 additional months of bottle age. It boasts a deep ruby/plum/purple color, notes of blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, licorice and pepper, a velvety texture, and an elegant yet substantial, medium-bodied personality displaying loads of fruit and glycerin as well as a heady finish. It, too, is an unreal value. —Robert Parker, November 2014.
