The Eagles are one of college hockey's hottest teams and much of the credit can go to the Grando - Räsänen - Hutsko line as this triumvirate has been crushing it. Christopher Grando, Aapeli Räsänen and Logan Hutsko are BC's leading line, combining for 10 goals and 18 assists (10-18-28) and are a combined +20 on the season. They have skated together 14 times this year as the Eagles have gone 8-5-1 since they've joined forces.

Boston College's line of David Cotton – Julius Mattila – Jake Tortora contributed on all four goals in a 4-4 tie against Harvard, accounting for 11 points, including four goals, seven assists, eight shots on net and a combined +9 rating.

OFFENSIVE AWAKENING It's no secret the Eagles' offense early on, but over the course of their last five outings, BC has accounted for five goals once, four goals three times and a three-goal showing to boost the offense up to 2.60 goals per game. In three of those five outings, Boston College's power play found the back of the net. BC's power play is operating at a rate of 14.5 percent (8-of-55).

FOUR-POINT PHENOMS Julius Mattila's four-point performance vs. Harvard, along with David Cotton's, was the first four-point showing of any Eagle this season. In his 45th-career game, Mattila accounted for his first-ever two-goal performance and multi-assist showing. Mattila also finished with a +4 plus/ minus rating, the best in the Finnish product's career. Cotton recorded BC's other four-point night, posting his seventh point (2-5-7) in his last three outings. Cotton scored his second goal of the season, 12th all-time, and turned in his second-career three-assist performance. The Parker, Texas native also racked up three assists against Notre Dame on Jan. 28, 2017.

Boston College's defense continues to limit the opposing lamp being lit as BC is now limiting its opponents to 2.60 goals per game. That number is tied for 16th, nationally, and is third, overall in the conference. Over the course of the last eight games, Boston College has only given up three goals on two occassions.

49th in all of college hockey while his 2.56 goals against average ranks 30th in the game. Woll has stopped 1,209 - of - 1,327 shots faced (.911 save percentage) with a career mark of 2.62 goals against average. Woll was also one of 20 goalies named to the watch list for the 2018 Mike Richter Award, which annually honors the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA Division I menâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s hockey.

Boston College's penalty kill is staving off oppnents' power plays at a rate of 83.8 percent (57-of-68) and is currently 21st in the nation and fourth in Hockey East. BC has kept its opponents off the board on the power eight of 15 times this season.

THE BRICK WOLL

Sophomore goaltender Ryan Edquist earned his second win of the 2017-18 season after stopping 23 shots in a 5-1 victory at Vermont. It marked his third start of the season as Edquist defeated UConn on Nov. 7 and stopped a career-best 42 shots at St. Cloud on Oct. 20. The Lakeville, Minn. native also came in with 1.6 seconds left at Merrimack and made a game-tying save to preserve an Eagle victory.

THE BATTLE OF COMM AVE. Both teams always have the Battle of Comm Ave. circled on their respective calendars as Boston University makes its way down the green line for a Friday night puck drop at Kelley Rink. Not only does Friday's fray mark the 275th installment of the Green Line Rivalry, the 2017-18 season is the centennial season in which these two adversaries first met. BC and BU first met on Feb. 6, 1918 as part of Boston College's first-ever varsity hockey season. The Eagles skated to a 3-1 victory. Last year, Boston College and Boston University met on the ice four times and the Terriers came away with three of those decisions. BC salvaged the series last season after ousting the Terriers from the Hockey East semifinals, 3-2, on Match 17, 2017. BU heads to Kelley Rink Friday night for the first meeting of the 2017-18 season, a site in that has seen even play in recent history as BC and BU have skated to a 5-5-1 mark since 2007 on The Heights. Against BU at Kelley Rink, head coach Jerry York is 17-13-4 heading into Fridayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s rivalry game on The Heights. As a whole, York is 7-4-1 against his BU counterpart, David Quinn. Prior to Quinnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s arrival, the Eagles faced off against legendary coach Jack Parker 155 times dating back to 1973, including 82 meetings against York. In all, York is 44-42-8 against Boston University as head coach of the Eagles. Friday also marks the 128th encounter in Hockey East play and of course as this heated series would have it, the overall conference mark between BC and BU is tied at 57-57-12 in league play. In all, the Terriers hold an 10-game advantage over Boston College in the overall series, with a 133-123-18 mark.

RHETT REPORT Boston University heads to The Heights with a 6-8-1 record and is tied for fifth in the Hockey East standings with a 4-4-1 mark in league play. The Terriers are fresh off their bi-annual trip to Madison Square Garden for Red Hot Hockey as BU lost to Cornell, 4-3, last Saturday on November 25. Sophomore forward Patrick Harper lead Boston University with 15 points, including six goals and nine assists, while junior Bobo Carpenter's eight goals is a BU best in that category. Carpenter is tied for the Hockey East lead in goals scored thus far. Half of Carpenter's goals (4) have come via the power play while two of his other tallies have come short handed as he is one of five NCAA skaters with two short-handed goals this season. Both the Terriers offense and defense are middle of the pack nationally. Boston University's offense is scoring a rate of 2.73 goals per game which is tied for 33rd on the national landscape while the defense is allowing 2.87 hoals per game, slotting the Terriers 30th overall.

ALL WE DO IS WIN WIN WIN (...WIN WIN WIN WIN AND A TIE...) Boston College is currently on an eight-game unbeaten streak, having won seven-straight contests and most recently tied Harvard, 4-4, on November 24 at Kelley Rink. It marked the Eagles first seven-game winning streak since rattling off 11 in a row from October 16 to November 28, 2015. It marks the longest unbeaten spell since BC went 9-0-1 from October 16 to November 13, 2016. Heading into the Battle of Comm Ave, Boston College is tied with Clarkson for the second-longest unbeaten streak in the nation as both clubs are unbeaten in their last eight. Notre Dame leads the country on a red-hot nine-game winning stretch.

ROAD BIRDS In addition to its seven-game winning stretch, Boston College has also won four true road games in a row (UVM, UVM, UNH, NU). It marks the first time the Eagles have won four-straight road games since the 2009-10 season when BC defeated UMass (3-1 – Dec. 4, 2009), BU (4-1 – Dec. 5, 2009), Harvard (3-2 – Dec. 9, 2009) and Providence (3-1, Dec. 12, 2009).

DA DAH DA - DA DAH DA. On the night of November 17, Joseph Woll's sprawling save to preserve a 3-2 lead at New Hampshire was awarded the No. 2 play on SportsCenter as part of the nightly show's #SCTop10 feature.

DEFENSIVE DECORATIONS On November 20, Joseph Woll was awarded Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors, after racking up 50 saves, a pair of victories and turning in the save of the season thus far.

NOVEMBER NICE In recent years, the month of November has been very kind to head coach Jerry York's teams. Believe it or not, this is the second time in three seasons BC has won its first seven outings in the month of November as BC turned the trick in the 2016-17 season. If you include the 2013-14 season, where the Eagles went 6-0-1, Boston College is unbeaten in the first seven games of November in three of the last five seasons. In all under York, BC has gone unbeaten four times in the first seven games of November as the 2003-04 club went 5-0-2 to start the month. The Eagles finished the entire month of November unbeaten, going 7-0-1.

COMEBACK KIDS Boston College has now come from behind twice to win games this year as the Eagles rallied back from two onegoal deficits to defeat New Hampshire on Nov. 17. BC also came back from a three-goal deficit at Providence in 4-3 overtime win on October 15.

KIM KAN Junior captain Michael Kim scored his first-career multi-goal game in his 77th game in the maroon and gold after netting the game-tying goal midway through the second period and the game-winning strike midway through the third at UNH on Nov. 17. The defenseman's game-tying goal at 9:31 of the second period stood as his second power play goal of the season and third as an Eagle. His game winner at 8:21 of the third is also his second of the season (UConn – Nov. 7) and third of his career. Two of Kim's three goals this season have come via the power play. Kim's performance marks Boston College's fifth two-goal showing of the season.

GAME-WINNING GRAHAM On November 18 at Northeastern, Graham McPhee netted his second power play goal of the season at the 9:16 mark of the third period. For McPhee, it was his sixth goal as an Eagle but stands as his first-career game-winning goal. McPhee is tied for second on the team with four goals this season.

GRANDO THE GREAT Freshman forward Christopher Grando had a breakout performance in BC's weekend sweep at Vermont on Nov. 10-11 and was heralded as the Hockey East Player of the Week. The Islip, N.Y. native accounted for five points (2-3-5) on the weekend, including a big showing on Nov. 11. Grando started off the weekend in Friday's 4-3 victory at Gutterson Fieldhouse with his first-career multi-point performance in the maroon and gold, doling out a pair primary assists and a +3 rating. He followed that with his first-career two-goal game, including the short-handed game-winning goal. Grando is Hockey East's first freshman to be named outright Hockey East Player of the Week since New Hampshire's Patrick Grasso on Oct. 31, 2016.

TWO FOR DU Junior JD Dudek skated in his 86th game as an Eagle on Nov. 11 at UVM and had previously recorded an assist in 14 separate outings. That game marked his first-career multi-assist showing as he helped out on a pair of BC goals. Dudek also assisted at New Hampshire on Nov. 17, marking the first time the hometown product of Auburn, N.H. has registered assists in back-to-back outings.

GIVING GOALIES In addition to sophomore Ryan Edquist's second victory of the season, the Lakeville, Minn. native also recorded his first-career assist, making the save and swatting it out to Kevin Lohan in the slot. DON’T FORGET ABOUT THAT GUY... Boston College’s head coach Jerry York needs no introduction as the Eagle skipper skates into his 24th season at the helm on The Heights and 46th season in all. York’s 1,041 victories are the most of any Division I coach in the history of college hockey, more than 100 wins clear of the former leader, Ron Mason (Michigan State - 924). York is one of only three coaches in NCAA history to lead two different schools to national titles; led Bowling Green to the 1984 NCAA title, and Boston College to the 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2012 NCAA titles. He is the all-time leader in NCAA Tournament wins with 41 victories, as well, and has led 22 teams to 25 or more wins.

IN THE COLD OCTOBER RAIN It's no secret Boston College has skated off to a 1-5-1 start in Novrmbrt, but the Eagles, by far, had the toughest nonconference schedule in the country. In October, combined, BC's opponents went 23-6-3 and are currently ranked No. 1 (Denver), No. 2 (St. Cloud State), No. 6 (Providence), No. 7 (Wisconsin) and No. 11 (Quinnipiac), respectively. The Eagles look to turn the page on October and turn things around in conference play. The Eagles have turned things around in November, winning their first seven games and closing out the month unbeaten with a 7-0-1 record.

OPENING NIGHT EAGLES After leading the National Hockey League with having 24 former Boston College Eagles dressing in at least one NHL game last season IN 2016-17, BC once again paces the college hockey world with the most delegates on NHL opening night rosters with 19 to start off the 2017-18 slate. Prior to NHL franchises trimming their respective clubs to their opening night rosters, Boston College led the pack with 33 alumni earning training camp invitations, followed by Minnesota (29), Michigan (28), North Dakota (28) and Boston University (27). The top six programs are: Boston College (19), Michigan (17), North Dakota (16), Minnesota (15), Boston University (14) and Wisconsin (11).

SHOW BIRDS Starting off the 2017-18 season, with 548 former NCAA players having reported to National Hockey League training camps for preseason preparation, the Boston College men’s hockey program led the way with 33 representatives spread out over 18 franchises. As has been the way in the past, the Eagles’ professional pedigree shined through as BC led all schools with 33 alumni earning training camp invitations, followed closely by Minnesota (29), Michigan (28), North Dakota (28) and Boston University (27).

DRAFTED Boston College has the fifth-most draft picks on any 2017-18 roster this college hockey season with eight, including: Joseph Woll (Toronto), Graham McPhee (Edmonton), JD Dudek (New Jersey), Casey Fitzgerald (Buffalo), Christopher Brown (Buffalo), David Cotton (Carolina), Aapeli Räsänen (Edmonton) and Michael Karow. Minnesota leads the way with 13, Boston University has 12, Michigan with 10 and Providence and Wisconsin each have nine.

SHOT CALLERS Sophomore forward Graham McPhee’s father, George, played for Coach York at Bowling Green where he won the Hobey Baker Award in 1982 and is now the general manager of the new Las Vegas Golden Knights franchise. Junior captain Casey Fitzgerald’s father, Tom, is the assistant manager of the New Jersey Devils.

THE COLDEST PROGRAM OF ‘EM ALL When the Eagles took on Quinnipiac in the 2016 national semifinal contest, it marked Boston College’s 25th Frozen Four appearance which is the most in college hockey history. BC looks to make it 26 this year in Minneapolis on April 5, 2017.

York is 36-13 in NCAA Tournament games as the head coach at Boston College; his 41 wins overall in the NCAA Tournament is also the highest total in Division I history.

Since Jerry York led his first Boston College team to the 1998 Frozen Four, the Eagles are one of three teams with at least 500 victories since that point. Boston College is second with 532 victories, while North Dakota (548) leads the pack. Michigan (519) is the other prorgram to have also eclipsed the 500 mark over the past 20 seasons. Upon completion of the 2016-17 season, Boston College maintained its best overall winning percentage in Hockey East history for the fourth-consecutive season.
